Chapter two

Chapter two:

Rebecca took in a deep breath. The sun rose slowly and it was the most beautiful sunrise she had ever seen. “ Hop to it, Rebecca!” Called the cook. Who had handed her a try of an egg, cheese, and bacon casserole for the captain. For his
breakfast.

“Oh, Right.” Rebecca sighed and made her way towards the captain’s cabin. She reached the captain’s cabin. Well outside his door at least. She knocked. Holding the try with her knee and her other hand.

“ Come!” She heard from the other side. She took in a very deep breath before opening the door.” Ah, I see you not only kept mid night watch. You also managed to do breakfast.” Jones said, glancing up from reading charts, at the desk on the far wall in his large cabin. On the other side of that wall was his large bed. Right across from that was his massive organ. Something that was never to be looked at nor touched.

“ Not I, Captain. But I’m flattered.” Rebecca said walked towards the most feared man in the Sea, Davy Jones. She set the tray down as he took off his tiny reading glasses to look at her.

She tried her best not to look at him as she poured him a glass of wine. “ Do ye know what today is?” Jones asked abruptly.

“No. What is today?” Rebecca asked, still trying to keep her eyes from glancing into his.

Jones snickered and used one of the moving tentacles on his beard to scoop up his fork and use it to eat. There was a moment where all he did was eat, then sip his wine. It was then, he responded.” One year I believe ye’ve been a member of me crew. “ He said.

Rebecca nodded.” I see time as absent here, Captain.” She said.

Jones chuckled, and put his pipe to his lips and took a puff,” Good lass. Keep up yer attitude and you’ll be freed in no time.” He said.

“ You sound promising.” Rebecca said. Finally looking up at him. And she met his gaze. He was staring right at her. With an amused smile. He lifted his hand with the tentacle and gestured for her to go around and stand before him. She shivered and did as asked.

With one long tentacle on his beard, Jones tiled her chin from where she stared at the floor.” Such hope in these eyes of yours. Have I spoiled you?” He asked in a cold tone.

Should she answer? Rebecca was afraid. If she said yes. Then it would be a lie. And to lie to Jones called for the worst punishment of all. But to say no, that would also be a lie. For she had been fortunate to be equal to every man there.

“ I do not know what you mean by, spoil. Do you mean you’ve treated me fair?” She asked. To try and save herself.

Jones chuckled at her and lifted his hand and emptied the ash from his pipe over his crab claw. “ Then tell me, why you are warm.”

“ Warm? I…..can not lie…..I do not know. Perhaps because I….am so honored to have a captain who acts as though he cares for me.” She answered. Jones nodded and slipped his tentacle from her chin and let it dangle. Rebecca un tensed. But only for a moment. She stood there, watching Jones as he went back to his business. Acting like Rebecca was not there.

“ Are you still here?” Jones asked. Not looking at her.

Rebecca took a deep breath and answered. “ Well…captain I stay because you have nor ordered me to do otherwise.” She whispered.

“ You know yer father would have snapped already and tried to stab me.” Jones said abruptly.

“ With all do respect sir….I am not my bastard father.” She defended herself calmly.

“ That is apparent, Rebecca. Very well. If it is orders you want. Then an order I will give. “ he started. “ Closer yer eyes. And turn around.”

Rebecca nodded. He stood too, curling his longer tentacles around her wrist slowly. She shivered. Her blood pressure rising. Damn his touch was arousing.” S..sir.” She struggled to talk. He moved forward. Forcing her to walk forward. Slowly.

She gasped. As she felt most of his tentacles slowly crawling up her pale back. And curling around her shoulders. One barely lingered over her breast.” Stop.” Jones had commanded. Handing her a cloth. When she opened her eyes. Right infront of her was his organ.

“ It seems dusty. Before I let you retire until this evening I want you to clean it.” Jones said. “ But with this I trust I need not warn you to keep your hands and eyes on the organ and only that.” He had a tone of warning.

“ Of course Captain.” Rebecca said. Jones stared at her longer. He made a sort of snort noise. Turned to leave his cabin. Leaving Rebecca to clean his treasured instrument. She had heard him play it before. From when she had sat outside his door one night. And the song he played sounded sad. She wondered if he could indeed still feel the heartbreak left over from the woman he used to love.
