Will

Hmmmm....Isn't this odd; not even the first chapter and I already have nine reviews...Not that I'm complaining, mind you.

Pookie: *starts burying sugar supplies* uhm....

GundamNymph: Yes, you did start all this. :P:P But I'm only familiar with Anne Rice vampires and I really don't like the whole "Pity me, I'm a monster" act she has going. One of the reasons why I have my own original Vamp stories in the works.

Gabby: Yeah-huh. In note of lemons; you'll not see one in my fics anytime soon. And I tend to build plots more than sex.

Earen: *looks taken back* Since when have I ever teased my reade Nam Name one instance!...Hmmm, better not...

Rommie: Only four (five now) people have this new curse. Ana, Gibbs, Jack, Will, and the other gets thrown in at the en the the chapter. I'm not going to go into the movie (maybe some other time), but I will focus on the back story for this one. ;) Let me know if you write! I'll read. :)

MadoushiClef: heehee, good to know.

chibiryoko2001: Glad you like the idea, here you go.

misty: Uhm....

Anamaria felt like breaking something, unfortunately, the nearest 'thing' was Gibbs. Both were watching as their captain showed a tenderness they had rarely seen as Jack tried what he could to soothe the injured lad on the captain's bed.

"Jack..." Gibbs started, wanting to break the unease between them.

"How long until we can return to Tortuga?"

Gibbs hesitated, "Two days..."

Anamaria winced, far too long to do anything to save the young Will Turner. "There's nothing we can do, Jack."

Three days after sailing from Tortuga, Jack had caught sight of a merchant ship. His pirate instincts were enough to convince him to go for it. The crew was eager enough, and more than competent. Jack let his mind replay the battle.

He had taken his eyes off of Will for a second, just long enough for one of the merchant crew to take out a pistol. For a second, Jack had hoped he had mistaken, that the shot had missed Will. Then the scent of familiar blood reached him. And now the young man lay dying; external bleeding stopped, but internally, a wound was still open.

It was driving Jack mad, sensing the pain in his lover and knowing that he could do nothing to stop it. "How many were captured?"

Both Gibbs and Anamaria started at the sudden question. "Seven," the woman answered. "The rest of the merchants were killed."

Jack stood and started pushing the two out of the cabin. "Gibbs, see t' our crew. Make sure all wounds are tended an' we're on course for Tortuga. Ana, bring one of the merchants here, bound and make sure the bastard stays quiet."

Gibbs left, not willing to argue. Anamaria, however, crossed her arms.

"What are you plannin', Jack?"

"Just go do it, Ana."

"Jack-"

"I'm not going to let him die!" Jack fell back to his former place by the bed, checking Will over to make sure he hadn't woken. "Please, Ana. Just do this."

More than surprised, Anamaria nodded, leaving quickly. Jack had been going between different states of consciousness for the last day. From hours of complete silence and seeming apathy, to rages. Never leaving Will's side.

Running two fingers over the steadily weakening pulse in Will's neck, Jack sighed. This was the last thing he wanted to do, not even sure if it would work. Resting his forehead against Will's for a second, just for the comfort of contact, Jack let his senses gather everything they could.

Mind set, Jack nuzzled Will's neck, remembering times of just grazing his longer 'fangs' over the young man's skin. He found the pulse point and quickly pierced the flesh, feeling Will, even unconscious and fevered, jerk in surprise. The copper tang of blood had always been a sweet taste to Jack, but Will's blood, even though it held the innocence of the young blacksmith still new to the world beyond Port Royal, was bitter to him.

He drank quickly, not wanting to draw the experience out any longer than it had to be, for the both of them. As soon as he felt the mortal heart slow, Jack drew back, swiftly cutting his wrist and bringing it to Will's lips. He silently begged the young man to take it, to accept being turned.

Anamaria recognized the cause of her friend and captain's pain immediately after setting foot in the brig. She had Cotton pull the man from the cell he shared with several others. She smiled and drew her dagger.

"Now, we can do this simple, or we can do this my way."

The man's brow furrowed in confunsion and Anamaria shoved him against a wall, one hand easily pinning him to the wood and the other holding the dagger at his throat. "You took too long, mate."

She caught sight of a metal bowl that was relatively clean and smiled. gingging the dagger across the man's throat, she quickly switched the blade for the bowl, watching the red liquid flow into it, growing darker as more came. Almost nonchalantly, Anamaria watched as her victim's eyes began to close, knowing the man was still fully aware of his surroundings.

When the bowl was half full, Anamaria let the body drop, figuring she wasn't going to be getting any more. Smiling, and much relieved, she turned to Cotton. "Clean this up, will you?"

There was a light rain starting as Anamaria made her way back to Jack's cabin. Gibbs had taken over the crew, giving the orders to return to Tortuga. She knocked on Jack's door, hoping the blood hadn't cooled too much.

Jack raised an eyebrow, "I though I said to bring someone."

"He slipped an' fell on me knife," Anamaria geld up the bowl. "But set it o'er a candle, an' it's good as new."

Jack took the bowl, leaving the door open for Anamaria to come in. The woman saw Will still lying on the bed, but no longer struggling to breathe, and his heart maintained a soft but steady rhythm. Finding a way to move a short candle under a tray without burning it, Jack managed to set the bowl on the heat.

"He's gonna need more, Jack."

"There'll be time enough when we get t' Tortuga. How many merchants?"

"Seven, six now."

"Kill three."

"Jack-"

"Trust me, Ana," Jack grinned. "You an' Gibbs get a nice meal, I take care o' Will. An' you just make sur get get t' Tortuga."

Anamaria sighed, "You had better know what you're doin', Jack. I'm fond o' th' lad too."

"No worries, love. Same thing ol' Bootstrap did for me."

Hmmmmmmm....As always (at least to those who read my other things), I think this is crap. Desn't mean I won't continue. Just means I think it could have been a lot better. Ah well, let's see how far this one can go, shall we?
