Deliverance And Destruction

A/N: Okay so now Jack and Elizabeth are on the run. Jack will take Elizabeth to Singapore where they visit a Parliament Official who happens to be an old friend of his. After an elaborate dinner and an exchange of a generous amount of gold Jack secures an annulment for Elizabeth. Back in Port Royal Will is frantically searching for Elizabeth. When he learns that Jack has left town he becomes enraged at the idea that his wife has gone on the run with the pirate. Please read and review!!

Elizabeth leaned against the railing of the little fishing boat drumming her fingers anxiously the closer they got to the Pearl. Once they pulled up right alongside the Pearl Jack smiled as he saw Gibbs head over to the railing and lean over to investigate. Once the old man saw Jack and Elizabeth his scowl turned into a smile and he quickly lowered the rope ladder over the side to let them climb aboard. Waving his thanks at the captain of the tiny fishing boat Jack then turned back towards his crew who had all congregated to the main deck to welcome him back. Elizabeth stood beside him with her head down as if she were trying to hide from something or someone. Gibbs noticed immediately that her long tawny hair that was usually flowing freely had been tucked up underneath the black tricorne hat she was wearing.

It was obvious to him that she was trying to hide the fact that she was a woman…but to whom? All the crew already knew that she was a woman and they could care less. Gibbs attention was snapped back to Jack when he noticed his captain clear his throat loudly. Following Jack and Elizabeth into Jack’s cabin Gibbs shut the door behind them.

“Alright…what in Mother Mary’s name is going on Jack?”

“Why does something have t’ be going on? Perhaps Izzy an’ I jus’ decided t’ surprise ye with a visit?”

Gibbs snorted loudly before replying.

“Perhaps that be the biggest pile of bullshit that I’ve ever heard captain.”

Chuckling loudly Jack moved to grab the ever present bottle of rum from his small bedside table. Pulling the cork he tossed it over his shoulder not caring where it landed before offering the bottle to Gibbs. The old man shook his head making Jack shrug before turning the bottle up to take a generous swig from it.

“Alright so maybe we’re not jus’ dropping in for a visit…we’re in a bit of a mess Gibbs.”

“I figured as much.”

“If I hadn’t known ye so long I might have been offended by that.”

“An’ if I hadn’t known ye so long I’d know better than t’ say it. Anyway…what’s the mess yer in now Jack?”

“Well our dear William seems t’ have gone stark raving mad…had Izzy tied up t’ their bed an’ locked in their room.”

“I’d say yer right t’ think he’s flown the cuckoo’s nest. So I take it we’re going on the run then?”

“Precisely Gibbs.”

Elizabeth stepped in between the two men to interject herself into the conversation.

“And just where are we going to go Jack? Will is going to come looking for me.”

“Ye underestimate me darlin’…m’ the king of disappearing.”

“Alright oh king…where are we going?”

“T’ Singapore…it’s the last place William will look.”

“How do you figure that? He knows you have connections there Jack.”

“So?”

“So…he probably would think to look there first.”

“Not likely…the whelp doesn’t think as fast on his feet as me darlin’…he’ll be thinking Tortuga for certain.”

“And if you’re wrong?”

“Love…m’ never wrong…almost. An’ besides it doesn’t matter…we’re only making a short stop in Singapore anyhow…we’ll be there two days tops.”

“Oh…and then where are we going?”

“Wherever the horizon beckons darlin’…that’s the beauty of it.”

“Well I just hope that Will doesn’t discover I’m missing for quite some time.”

Back in Port Royal the sun was beginning to set in the sky painting it a beautiful golden orange hue. Will had spent the majority of the day holed up in one of the guestrooms with Miriam making love. Finally needing to take a break for water and a much needed meal he got up and dressed quickly leaving her still naked beneath the sheets napping after their trysts. Shutting the door quietly he headed downstairs and got a pitcher of water and a couple of glasses before grabbing a loaf of fresh bread that had been cooling on the counter in the kitchen. That would be sufficient enough to tide them both over so that they could go another few rounds before dinner that night. Seeing Gabriella coming out of their bedroom he stopped her.

“How did you get into that room?”

“I have the skeleton key…remember Mr. William? It will open any door in the mansion.”

“Ah…right…how is she?”

“Miss Elizabeth is sleeping sir.”

“That’s just as well…I’ll be in to check on her before dinner.”

“Very well sir…did you need anything else?”

“No…Miriam and I will be in our room until dinner…we’re not to be disturbed.”

“Yes sir.”

With a quick nod Will walked through the door of the guestroom where he had left Miriam and shut it behind him. Gabriella sighed in relief as she headed downstairs to go get some of the other servants to help her keep the fact that Elizabeth had gone on the run a secret. She needed to find Lilly and quick. Lilly was a young maid who had worked at the mansion for about two years now. She looked almost identical to Elizabeth…except for the fact that her hair was a shade darker than Elizabeth’s and she was a little shorter. But at first glance seeing her in the bed in Elizabeth’s place William was bound to think it was Elizabeth at first. That was a risk she had to take to keep Elizabeth’s disappearance under wraps for as long as possible to try and give them more time to get farther away from Port Royal.
