Welcome to Port Royal

Author(s) Note(s): I'm sorry that I haven't updated, even though it hasn't really been that long. But with 700 hits, I felt I should update. Sad thing is we only have 2 reviews. So I've decided that before I post the thrid chapter, I want to get a few more reviews. I'm not sure how many more, but if the people that have already read the first chapter would express either like or dislike for tha that would be good. Actually, I'd be happpy with just 3 more reviews, both good or bad.

Sorry about where this stops, but it's late and I don't feel like adding more.

P.S. I hope you like it. (Sorry that there is no smut yet, but you can't just put it anywhere....Example below...

Jack Sparrow stood atop the *(Smut)* sail of the small boat as he sailed into the *(Smut)* port town. *(Smut)* Jack looked down and noticed that the ship was *(Smutilliilling with the sea. He jumped down to the *(Smut)* hull to start *(Smut)* bailing out the water. As he threw out *(Smut)* a pail of water, he looked up to see the skeletons of three *(Smut)* hanged pirates with a sign hung next to them reading *(Smut)* "Pirates Ya Be Warned". Jack stood up in the boat and removed his *(Smut)* tri-cornered hat. He lowered his head slightly and *(Smut)* gave the dead a meek salute out of respect. *(Smut)*

See? That just doesn't work. But it is funny....anyways, on to the chapter.

Welcome to Port Royal

Jack Sparrow stood atop the sail of the small boat as he sailed into the port town. Jack looked down and noticed that the ship was filling with the sea. He jumped down to the hull to start bailing out the water. As he threw out a pail of water, he looked up to see the skeletons of three hanged pirates with a sign hung next to them reading "Pirates Ya Be Warned". Jack stood up in the boat and removed his tri-cornered hat. He lowered his head slightly and gave the dead a meek salute out of respect.

Local crewmen who were loading their ships stopped to watch the vessel make it's way into the busy port. Jack, having given up on saving the ship from sinking, stood atop the mast of the ship, ttimetime on the crows-nest. The ship that had once sailed proud with the wind came to rest at the end of the dock. Jack stepped off with ease and headed away from the craft that had taken him this far. He started to walk down the dock, only to be stopped by the Harbor-master.

"What? Hold up there you."

Jack turned on his heal and walked over to the man. "It's a shilling to tie up your boat at the dock." Jack and the Harbor-master turned to look at the small bit of the mast that still stood above the water. "And I shall need to know your name."

Jack dug into his pocket and pulled out three shillings and placed them into the logbook the Harbor-master held out into front of him. "What do you say to three shillings, and we forget the name?"

"Welcome to Port Royal, Mr. Smith." Both men turned and walked away. As Jack passed the Harbor-masters station, he picked up the small coin purse that lay there. Jack shook it and, pleased with the sound of a few coins jingling, promptly placed the purse into his coat pocket and continued to walkn thn the dock.

With the sounds of a ceremony, or some other fancy gathering, coming from the fort, Jack had no problem thinking that the dock leading to the docked navy ship would be unwatched. As he walked down the ramp leading to the dock, he was surprised the see two naval officers standing watch. Jack tried to slip by them, but was caught. "This dock is off limits to civilians."

"I'm terribly sorry. I didn't know. If I see one, all all inform you immediately." Jack said as he tried to walk toward the ship. But the two officers moved with him. "Apparently there's some sort of high-toned and fancy to-do up at the fort, aye. How is it that two upstanding gentlemen such as yourselves did not merit an invitation?" Jack asked, hoping to get them to leave.

"Someone has to make sure this dock stays off limits to civilians."

"It's a fine goal, to be sure." Jack said, turning to face out into the bay. "But it seems to me that a ship like that", the two men turn to see what ship he was referring to,"makes this one here a bit superfluous, really."

"The Dauntless is the power is these waters, true enough. But there's no ship that can match the Interceptor for speed."

Thinking for only a slight moment, Jack replied "I've heard of one. It's supposed to be very fast. Nigh uncatchable. The Black Pearl."

Upon hearing this, one of the naval men gives a slight chuckle. "There's no real ship that can match the Interceptor." The other man turns, "The Black Pearl is a real ship."

"No. No, it's not."

"Yes, it is. I've seen it."

"You've seen it?"

"Yes."

"You haven't seen it."

"Yes, I have."

As the two nincompoops argued, Jack slowly slipped away to the ship they were supposed to be guarding.

After having confused the other officer, the man turned back to where he thought Jack would still be standing and said, "Like I said, there's no real ship that can match the Interceptor." Upon seeing that Jack was no longer there, the men turned to find him aboard the ship, apparently getting ready to sail off.

"Hey! You!" The officers ran onto the ship. "Get away from there! You don't have permission to be aboard there, mate." Both men raised there guns at Jack.

"I'm sorry, but it's such a pretty boat...err Ship."

"What's your name?

"Smith. Or Smithy, if you like."

"What's your purpose in Port Royal, Mr.Smith?"

"Yeah. And no lies."

"Well, then, I confess. It is my intention to commandeer one of these ships, pick up a crew in Tortuga, raid, pillage, plunder, and otherwise pilfer my weaselly black guts out."

"I said no lies."

"I think he's telling the truth."

"If he were telling the truth, he wouldn't have told us."

"Unless of course he knew you wouldn't believe the truth, even if he told it to you."

Up top the high cliff was the large stone fortress where the promotion ceremony was held, and now the congratulations party was being held. Elizabeth Swann stood next to her father, when the now Commodore Norrington came up to her and asked, "May I have a moment?" The two walked together out into the sun and up the stairs to a small bell-tower overlooking the bay. "You look lovely, Elizabeth." She turned to give him a thankful smile. Norrington turned away to think on what words to use in his next few sentences. "I apologize if I seem forward, but I must speak my mind. This promotion throws into sharp relief that which I have not yet achieved." He turned back to her, "A marriage to a fine woman. You have become a fine woman, Elizabeth.

Shocked at his words Elizabeth gasped, "I can't breathe."

Turning away from her again Norrington said, "Yes, I'm a bit nervous myself." As the words left his mouth, Elizabeth fainted and fell of the edge of the fort, plummeting into the water below, barely mig thg the sharp rocks and coral reefs.

Aboard the ship Jack was hoping to commander, Jack and the two naval officers were talking. Jack said, "And then they made me their chief." The sound of Elizabeth's body falling into the sea caused all three men to look up.

Turning around, Norrington saw that Elizabeth was no longer there. "Elizabeth?" he looked around, then below, to the water. Seeing the spray from her slash he called out again. "Elizabeth!!" Removing his coat, he made to jump in after her. Upon hearing his cries, a few of the other officers went to his aid to see what is the matter. Looking down one said, "The rocks! Sir, it's a miracle she missed them!" They move to rush to the docks.

Jack asked the two naval men, "Will you be saving her, then?"

"I can't swim."

"Pride of the Kings Navy you are. Do not lose these." He said as he removed his hat, took off his sward, removed his coat and handed over his gun. He stepped up the the rail of the ship and dived off. Elizabeth was already at the bottom of the bay by the time Jack got to her. He grabbed her about the waist and lifted her to the top.
