Paris Remembers
Paris sat next to Helen in the darkness. She lay her head on his chest and slept. He could hear her soft breathing next to him and the sound of Menelaus's snoring from the bed. If Paris were to move he would also hear the sound of the chains that bound him hand and foot to Helen. There was also the one that bound them to the main tent support and wrapped around them. The chains were heavy. It took four of Menelaus’s to to carry them. They were more than enough to weigh the two of them down. Sleep would not come to Paris. He was still sore from where Menelaus had spanked him earlier. What were his father and brother thinking now? That he was a coward, a fool or both? Paris had left Hector a letter explaining what he was doing and why. Both he and Helen had agreed to the plan, neither could take full credit or blame for it's creation either.
*Flashback*
Paris remembered when he toectoector that Helen was aboard their ship. Hector was none too pleased to learn that Helen had run away with his brother. After he had convince Hector not to turn around and head back to Sparta, Paris found out he would pay the consequences for his actions sooner than he thought. Hector grabbed his wrist and took him below deck. Paris knew not to resist when Hector was like this. Once down stairs, Hector shut the door.
“What you did was the act of a spoiled brat,” said Hector. “Father has always been much too lenient with you.”
Paris had not lied to Menelaus when he said that his father had never raised his hand to him. Hector was another matter all together. Though by had only spanked him that time he stole their father’s horse and later when Hector found out he had bedded another man’s wife. Often in front of the man whose wife he had bedded. This time it would be Helen who watched him get punished. Paris decided to get this over with as quickly as possible and put voluntarily himself over Hector’s lap. Hector pulled up the skirt to his tunic and bared his bottom. He proceeded to bring his hand down on Paris’s bare flesh as hard as he could. At first Helen turned away.
“Any strike you do not witness, will be repeated,” said Hector.
Helen did her best not to turn away or flinch. Hector continued to bring spank Paritil til he bottom was a cherry red.
“Helen did not witness five strikes,” said Hector. Hector brought his hand down on Paris bare flesh five more time, then he spanked Helen five time. Helen cried, and told Hector how abusive Menelaus had been toward her and how he was just like him.
“Menelaus has no right to come after me, after the way he treated me,” she had said as she showed Hector the bruises Menelaus had given her the night before. “That’s not all, you’ve seen him cavorting with other women, two, or three at a time. He won’t even notice I am gone for three or four days!”
“My brother isn’t like that,” Paris had told her once Hector was gone. “He loves his wife and is faithful to her. He has never once laid a hand on her in anger. I know my brother can be a bit heavy handed with me, but he means well. Please don’t compare him to Menelaus again. Once you get to know him, you will realize that he is a better man than Menelaus will ever be. He is a better man, than I can ever hope to be and I deserved every bit of what the punishment he meted out.”
Paris took Helen in his arms and let her cry.
“I promise, I will have a talk with Hector, no one will ever hurt you again,” said Paris.
*End Flashback*
Paris knew he would not be able to keep that promise much longer. He also knew that given Menelaus’ abusive nature, pain would be a constant companions in his life until the day either he or Menelaus died. He believed that it would be his death that would end his torment and not Menelaus’s. Even if Menelaus died before him, he was sure someone else would finish what the Spartan king had started.
(A/N I like reviews, but I will be realistic… I don’t expect many. I am not going to hold new chapters over for reviews. If I am long in posting new chapters it is because I can’t think of one.
Question? Should Paris and Helen escape or be returned to Troy or should Menelaus take them back to Sparta or should Odysseus take them to Ithica?
Anyway the challenges in chapter 2 ideaidea I can’t seem to get a story going for and anyone is welcome to them. Thank you for the 5 review I did get)
