The Rescuer

Chapter 3: Relaxation

The landing had gone....well as good as a landing could go. Though they were not obligated to pay a landing fee. When he, Aayla and his crew exited the docking bay there were several speeders waiting for them to transport them to Banner's home on Kuat. Aayla was quiet enough during the ride even though everyone with him and her was laughing, but she barely smiled at some of the jokes Lucifer or Vertigo cracked.
Aayla for her part just wanted to fall into a bed for a few hours, her body had been taxed beyond the limits. Unconciously she leaned agasint Tavin and closed her eyes and was out within moments. Tavin looked to his friends, and they all shrugged, and so did he, and he gently wrapped an arm about the twi'leks waist, and she seemed to snuggle agasint him. As the ride wore on he found himself nodding off several times until the speeder came to a stop. Aayla had not stirred and he waved off those that had ridden with him when they made hoots and catcalls as he gently shook her to wakefulness. Aayla blinked several times and looked around and squinted as light assualted her eyes and she asked in a groggy voice. "We there yet?" Tavin nodded and helped her out the speeder. Aayla looked up at the house as she became more awake and with sudden mixed feelings and she looked to Tavin worry making her voice strain. "What if she doesn't like me Tavin?" He only shrugged. "I have several friends that mother does not like, Lucifer and Sorin are two of them. But that is because they have no regard for her." Aayla nodded "So as long as I respect your mother she will like me?" Tavin grinned a bit and replied. "Well thats common knowledge, what I mean is that as long as you don't hit on her like they did. And as long as you are nice to her she won't treat you like a hostile." Aayla's lips twitched as she lookd over to the Rodian and the other human, then followed Tavin as the gates opened up to the massive house.
The house itself was grand, just a hint of what could be and Aayla in awe when they passed under an archway with the depictions of Jedi, and it made her appreciate Tavin's family all the more. When they reached the door it snapped open and humans, Twi'lek and Rodian alike threw themselves to the side as two blaster bolts flashed past. Moments later a single man came running out as fast as he could and from inside they could here the shout of a female. "And Stay out you son of a nerf herding hutt raping bitch!" Aayla found herself turning a deep crimson that a woman would say such as Tavin leaned forward a bit and shouted into the house." Is it possible to come inside now ma?" There was a brief silecne followed by a startled and now embarrassed voice. "Tavin? Tavin Davik Banner, you come inside and give your mother a hug!" With a grin he went inside and Aayla followed cautiously, the crew filing in behind him as if they knew they were more than welcomed and dispersed to various places of the house.
Tavin looked down at the small woman. More than fifty seven years had passed and the small woman named Selind Rose Banner was an imposing woman. Now she looked up at him, tapping her foot impatiently. "Well Tavin? Do you have anything to say for yourself?" Tavin shrugged and then leaned down a bit to hug his mother. She seemed to relent a bit and hugged him back and kiss his cheek. "Your father and I were wondering when you would be coming with your horde again. We heard what Palpatine had decreed. And when you left so abruptly we wondered what was going on." Tavin smiled softly and kissed her cheek. "I was fine and in no danger what so ever. We were able to rescue one of the jedi before it was too late." He turned to the twi'lek that had backed away a bit when she saw the small woman and shyly waved. Selene raised an eyebrow then looked to Tavin. "Tavin, I won't bother to tell you that one day your troubles are going to catch up to you...but I am glad you were able to save her." The short woman stepped forward and offered her hand, along with a gentle smile. "I am Selind Rose Banner." Aayla smiled and took her hand. "Aayla Securra...." The womans eyes sparkled then she turned to her son. "I like her Tavin, you did well in saving her....Tavin what are you planning?" The smuggler smiled. "Mum it is nothing that Da or D'nari wouldn't do. There are still jedi out there. After we resupply and go back to the Hoth base. We are going to strike out to several other planets....see if we can find any survivors....Palpatine and Vader murdered many jedi, we cannot allow them to die out." Tavin's mother smiled a bit and sighed sadly. "And there is no way I can talk you out of this is there?" He shook his head slightly and she sighed again and turned to Aayla. "You take care of him out there girl, he may not know it or accept it, but he needs you and the others to keep his fool head out of trouble.
The jedi nodded, blushing a little. "I won't let you down Mrs.Banner, I owe him my life I have to return the favor." She yawned slightly. "I am sorry, I have just been so tired lately...may I lay down somewhere?" Tavin's mother turned to him and raised an eyebrow. "Well are you going to show her a room or are you gonna stand there and ogle the poor girl?" Tavin shook his head realized he had been staring and stuttered out an apology, then waved his hand to the jedi and went up the stair, with Aayla in tow. After leading her down a hall he pressed two buttons next to a door and it opened, revealing a tidy bedroom. aayla did not bother to question and just simply went inside, making a beeline for the bed she laid down upon it and was asleep in less than a few moments. Tavin smiled softly, and smoothed the worry from her brow, and as an after thought bent to kiss her forehead and uttering a silent prayer he left her to sleep.


When Aayla awoke the room was dimly lit as Kuat's sun was setting, stretching as she sat up she looked about then made her way out the room to explore. The first room she passed was wide open and she stopped, staring at the site before her eyes. Tavin sat in what looked like a horse stance, stripped to the waist, wearing shorts. My gods....the man is a god! She felt her cheeks flush, and she knew she had to be staring...sith spit she was only mortal. She felt a light tap on her shoulder followed by Lucifer's whisper. "Need a towel there Aayla?" The female rodian leaned agasint the door jam and looked at the twi'lek, her ears twicthing in amusement. "Quite a specimen to look at....even if he is human isn't he?" All Aayla could do was nod, and her eyes wandered down his chest until Lucifer gently tugged on her arm. "Come on, Tavin wants to take us out, and I doubt we could accomplish if you jump him in his own room." Aayla grinned sheepishly and spoke in a shy voice."He has been so kind to me...all of you have. And I am greatful."
The Rodian smiled a bit as she lead the twi'lek to one of the speeders outside. Aayla looked to Lucifer questioningly to which the female rodian responded. "We are going to go out and having a bit of fun." And the Rodian thought, to get a bead on where this jedi was coming from. She turned the speeder around and sent it forward away from the compoud and to the city Aayla still rather confused at the *having fun* and she asked "Where exactly are we going" to which Lucifer replied "To a place where all women love to go. A shopping mall." the blue skinned Twi'lek winced slightly and resloved herself to a few hours of boredom .
Two hours, and several shops later both Lucifer and Aayla were sitting were back at the air speeder, and she had to admit, she had had some fun with the wild Rodian. She looked sidelong at some of the packages she herself had bought and smiled softly. Somethings she had bought for herself, except for the small bag she had neatly tucked into jacket pocket. Maybe Tavin would like it.

Flash back to a few hours ago:
"Damnit Lucifer this is the fifth shop we have been to, and my account is twenty thousand credits less than it should be!." the Rodian snorted lightly as tugged Aayla into the pawn shop. "Aayla if you do not loosen up you will realize that Tavin pays us well, so it never hurts to go a little over board sometimes. Besides you did say you wanted to get something for him anyways." Aayla bit her lip and she knew her cheeks were hot. "Lucifer....I want to get him something that he won't break or rust over time...please Lucifer, let me look." Lucifer stared at teh pleading look in her new friends eyes then nodded. "Alright Secura, you look around a bit, but I need to find something for someone waiting for us at our base on Hoth." The twi'lek nodded and left the small shop, leaving the Rodian to puruse through the place. While she looked through some of the windows, she stopped, and tilted her head to the side a bit when she saw the small emblem of a red bird of prey. Immidiately she went inside and to the owner at the front desk. "The bird of pray emblem you have on display. How much is it?" The owner eyed the jedi long enough to make her feel uncomfortable before answering. "For you? Three hundred credits." Aayla nodded a bit, then did a double take at the man, and she pulled her blaster just as two more came from the sides, and she put it the barrel agasint his forehead and looked to the two men that would have pinned her and she said in a low voice that carried the weight of the Force in it. "Your men will back off." The slaver shook his head for a moment, then said. "Back off boys." The two men exchanged glances and slowly backed away as Aayla pushed her thoughts into the mans mind. "You will release those you kidnapped. and run an honest buisness." The man reached under the desk and pressed two buttons, opening up several cages in the back, freeing two wookiees and a like number of Twi'leks and as she holstered her blaster the man smiled, producing the same emblem from under the counter. "Three hundred credits Miss. You enjoy that now. And have a nice day." Aayla smiled sweetly and left the store with her new prize.
End Flash back.

Aayla leapt out of the speeder as Lucifer was just barely shutting it down, grabbing the bags that she contained the various things she had bought at the rather....encouraging insistance of the Rodian, and went into the house and stopped, her skin paling when she saw the storm troopers. "It is just a routine check up ma'am, all we need to do is take your statement so that we know you are innocent." One of the troopers noticed Aayla and Lucifer as they entered and turned fully to them. "Who are you two?" Lucifer stepped forward her voice rising with her ire. "We should be asking you the same question.." She looked at the troopers rank. "....corporal. What the hell are you doing here?" The small squad turned to the two of them, and Aayla had to force herself from stepping back so great was the rising fear and the leader responded. "We received a report that Mrs. Banner had shot at a local government official. We are following up on that and making sure she was within her rights to open fire." Lucifer growled slightly and her hands opened and closed. "She was well within her rights, the man was trying to seduce her in her own house! While her husband, who I might add you work for, was at work. We arrived in time to see him running and he looked if anything terrified and unharmed, save for his damned ego!" The lead trooper nodded a bit. "I will take your statement and....whats wrong with your friend?" Lucifer looked to Aayla and immidiately dropped her bags, going to the shaking twi'lek whispering softly" Don't panic, they are not going to hurt you..." then she turned her head back to the lead trooper as the rodian hugged the shaking girl tightly. "Some of your people devastated her home during the War. Since then she is afraid of you all."
The Trooper nodded slightly then turned back to Selind just as Tavin came down the stairs. His black hair had been pulled back into a pony tail, he was wearing form fitting leather pants, and a nylon shirt. WHen he saw the troopers his eyes hardened into steel and he spoke with a voice that command authority and respect, then turned to anger when he spied the shaking twi'lek in Lucifers arms. "Sirs your time here is up. You are causing my family and my friends undue stress. If you do not leave, then I and my people will have to eject you forcibly." At that the storm troopers went for their weapons but from no where Tavin, Sorin, Lucifer, Vertigo and Dr. Isard ,who had been in the room during their investigation, produced blasters, pointing them directly at the troopers and Sorin spoke in a soft voice. "You are not welcomed here sirs. I suggest you leave." The troopers backed away slowly, their hands on their blasters and as they went out the door Tavin called out. "An official report of what happened will be sent to your office, both with my mother and what happened here. I will make sure that Jamis Banner gets wind of it too." The troopers gait faltered slightly but did not stop until he and his squad were gone, then Tavin went down the stairs, pushing past his Nav officer to gather Aayla in a tight hug.
Aayla clung to him as the terror at possibly being discovered slowly wore away, and she looked up at Tavin, wide eyed for a long moment. Tavin felt as if he were dying slowly while she looked at him, and impulse took over before rationale beat it to the punch and he leaned down a bit and kissed her upon the lips softly. Aayla's, gasp was muffled againt the humans lips and she felt herself slip, that rock steady control that she had held onto for so long, had used during fighting, even with her fellow jedi disappeared and all she could feel was his lips agasint hers and the burst of desire that shot through her body, and she returned that kiss tenfold, deepening it as her arms twined about his neck. When they parted, for a long moment no one spoke, then Sorin called out, "You gonna give us an encore?" everyone began to crack up, and causing Tavin and Aayla to blush furiously as hoots of laughter echoed out from all around them save for his mother who had a speculative eye on the pair. When Tavin regained his voice he looked at Sorin and in a cracked voice. "Grow up Sorin." That only caused his crew to laugh harder, some doubled over as Aayla blushed a new shade of reddish blue until Tavin's mother spoke up. "Okay you guys, we can tease them a bit more later. Tavin, your speeder is waiting for you and those of your crew youre taking with you to your club."
Tavin nodded and was about to turn about to go to the parking garage when he noticed something on Aaylas lekku. He looked a bit closer at the winding tattoo on the Jedi's brain tail then looked up to Aayla. "When did you get that?" Aayla smiled softly and replied "Oh Lucifer took me out on a bit of a shopping spree...and she sort of.....talked me into getting it, I will admit that I liked the idea too after I thought about it so I gave in and got it, along with a few other things we bought." her eyes lit up and she looked down at her jacket patting herself down. "Oh where the hell did I put it? Ah, here it is!." She pulled the small bag from one of the jacket pockets and put it in a startled Tavin's hand as the others looked on as he pulled out the emblem.
The human stared at the fire bired for a long moment, then back at her as she watched him hopefully, then smiled as he slippd the necklace about his neck. "Thank you Aayla, I will keep it on always." Aayla's smiled widdened and she threw her arms around his neck and kissed him soundly, then hugged him. "Now thats over with, your mother said something about a club?" Tavin nodded and shifted her arm so that it was linked through his. "She did indeed, and to the Precusor we go to." As Sorin, Vertigo, Aayla and Ashram made their way to the parking garage, Tavin went to his mother and hugged her tightly. "Look the doors tonight and activate our security droids. Some of my people will stay here to make sure you're safe." Selind hugged her son back. "Don't you worry a bit about me boy, those authorities cannot do a thing to us. It is you that needs to stay safe. Take this and give it to Aayla." From her belt she pulled, a lightsabre and handed it to him. "Your grandmother was a jedi in her days, she gave it to me when she passed on. I want you to give it to your lady, she may yet need it." Tavin nodded dumbly and turned to go to the garage when his mother stopped him. "The past is the past Tavin, you can't always stay there." again he nodded and fled to the garage.
In the speeder Lucifer stared at Aayla as the twi'lek buckled in. Sensing that she was being watch she looked up at the Rodian. "What?" Lucifer folded her arms and Aayla merely grinned ruefully. "Alright alright I wasn't planning to do that in public....I mean I wasn't...oh sith spit...." Lucifer reached over and patted her knee lightly. "Just becareful, the both of you." Sorin turned around from his place in the front see. "Yeah, don't forget to use protection. Ow! Damnit Ash that hurt!" Doctor Isard merely raised an eyebrow."I have no idea what you are talking about, Oh look it's our fearless leader." Tavin jumped into the driver seat, handing the stunnded Aayla the twin bladed lightsabre. "Mum wanted you to have it, just remember to keep it out of site." The Twi'lek nodded and put it on the inside of her jacket as Tavin brought the speeder to life and guided it out the garage and she asked. "What is the Precusor?" Tavin looked into the rear view at her and grinned wide enough to take in his ears. "My dear Aalya, you are about to find out." And with that he gunned the engine and sent the speeder up and away from the house.
