Three

The next morning, Ailsa rose early. She found a white silk robe in the closet and threw it over her bra and panties. There was food in the cabinets downstairs and she went to fix breakfast. As the sun rose, she made pancakes. Today's target was a man named Brian Lange. He was a bartender at Haddonfield's only strip club, the Rabbit in Red lounge. He had picked her up when she was 17 and had gotten her on the pole as soon as she was legal. Less than a month later, he left her for a 15 year old and she was stuck shaking her ass like a cheap slut. He had begun the next stage of what her father had started. For a moment, she was overcome with shame and she heaved into the sink. She was glad she had killed him herself.

"You poor thing." Ailsa turned around and saw a woman. She was beautiful, blond and wearing a white dress. She fucking glowed. But it was calming. Ailsa put down her knife and moved towards the woman. "It's going to be okay."

"Who are you?" Ailsa asked, her throat dry.

"Deborah Myers. And I know who you are, Ailsa. I have always known. You are very special. You are an avenging angel. You must right wrongs, exact justice and bring peace. They have hurt you, but you will fix it."

"Did I ever have a chance to be normal?"

"No. But this is your salvation. Michael will help you save us."

With that, she was gone. With her went the feeling of peace that Ailsa had been able to grasp. She knew what she had to do. Carve Brian up like a turkey, and kill that little tramp he was with, the jailbait whore Melissa. They had a baby. Maybe she would keep the baby. Ailsa couldn't have children. A teenage pregnancy (three guesses who the father was) and a back-alley abortion had made her infertile. The only good thing was that she didn't menstruate. That was a mere distraction, one she didn't need.

Heavy footsteps sounded. She grabbed her knife and held it up. When Ailsa turned around, she saw Michael standing in the doorway, staring at her.

Michael thought of Mama and Boo. With her new hair and the white robe, she looked like some sort of angel, her knife gleaming in the early morning sun. Her eyes, which were the same dull green as marijuana leaves, were bright and alert. She lowered the knife, tucking it into her pocket.

"Michael, will you come with me?" she asked, walking over to him. "I have to take care of something. Do you want to come?" She made stabbing and cutting motions with her hands and he nodded. "Let me dress."

They left less than an hour later. Ailsa had found black jeans and a black sweatshirt. She tucked the knife and tape in her pockets. Michael walked beside her, his head bent. She had yet to see his face, although she was dying to. He would show her when he was ready. And when he did, she would know what she really wanted. There were a lot of thoughts swirling in her mind, most of them about him. What was he to her? A savior, a landlord, a friend, or maybe more? If he was so inclined, he could cut her open and play with her guts.

But she knew he wouldn't.

It was eight when they reached his house. Ailsa slid in through an open window. She opened the front door for Michael and they headed for the back of the house. The baby was crying. The parents were in their bedroom. Fucking like animals. Michael pulled Melissa up by her hair and twisted her around. Ailsa plunged the knife into Brian's chest and he screamed like a little bitch.

"YOU FUCK! YOU RUINED ME AND YOU WON'T GET AWAY WITH IT!" Ailsa screamed as she cut his throat and began to stab and stab until she felt good. Bliss had broken out all over her body and she screamed as she took his heart out and held the beating organ in her hand.

Michael was slamming the girl into the wall over and over until her face was pulp. She screamed and then suddenly stopped. Michael threw her to the ground. They stared at each other for a long moment. Then, Ailsa went to the other room and picked up the baby.

"Hey," she cooed and held it close. Sirens sounded and she almost dropped the little girl. Michael grabbed her arm. "No! What about the baby?" she asked. He shook his head and tried to drag her away. "We can't leave it here!" Michael took the baby and made an odd guesture. "Can we come back for it?" He nodded and they slipped out the back door and into the dense woods behind the house.
