First Blood

Beth-Jane Silver(and all in between so far): As much as I appreciate the reviews, could you please leave more than just that? A little hard to hold conversation when it's just demands or saying that you can't wait.

Mei Leng: Heh, hope I don't disappoint you. My first actual vamp fic, but I've been working with the genre for years (well, three, but still...). It should be interesting, most likely just as many plot confusions as in Coming Along.

Rommie: Heh, I know what it's like to get bored with a fandom. *looks over mass of LotR fics* Bootstrap gets a part in this, and a few flashbacks get to come in. Thanks! *huggles and hands a lolly*

Will coughed, trying to mbermber what had happened. He could feel a pain in his chest that was fading fabut but a lingering throb on his neck. His thoughts were suddenly broken by something unfamiliar to him. He was thisty, but he couldn't identity what he wanted, he just knew he needed something to soothe his thirst, and he needed it now.

He saw movement from the desk on the other side of the cabin. "Jack..."

The captain was by his side in an instance, "'Bout time you woke, whelp. I was almost worried."

"...Thirsty..."

"Hold on a second."

Jack got up, retrieving a small metal bowl from the desk and returned to kneeling next to the bed. He brought the rim of the bowl to Will's lips after helping the younger man sit up. Will coughed as soon as he realized what the liquid was.

Pulling the bowl away before any of the blood could be spilt, Jack gave Will a stern look. "You need this, love."

"You did it..."

"You were dyin'."

Will made a face but didn't resist when Jack brought the bowl back to his lips. Jack smiled, "You'll get used t' it."

Jack couldn't resist leaning down to kiss Will when the bowl had been emptied. "Mm. I could get used t' that."

"I'm still thirsty."

"No more for now."

The only sound was that of the rain beating down on deck as Jack set the bowl aside animbeimbed into the bed, wrapping his arms around Will. Jack knew they had dropped anchor to wait out the storm, but he wasn't as worried now, feeling Will regaining his strenth next to him. Running a hand through Will's hair, Jack smiled and nuzzled the fast-fading mark on Will's neck.

"You'll be feelin' that for a while, love. But you'll 'ardly notice it in a week."

Sighing, Will tried to ignore the desire to drink. He closed his eyes, trying to let his mind get lost in whatevack ack was doing, as he had before. Only this time was different; he could hear the steady, if slow, beat of Jack's heart.

"Jack."

"Mm?" Jack moved a hand to turn Will's face to his, fully intending to steal the younger man's breath. Will pushed Jack away a little, much to Jack's dismay.

"I'm thirsty."

"Why can't you be this insatiable in other parts o' your life?"

Will frowned and Jack got up, sighing dramatically. "Fine. A litle early for you t' learn, but better sooner than later."

"Learn what?"

*************

Anamaria threw the second body into the sea, the small amount of blood still trickling from what had once been a man drew a few sharks to the area. She didn't mind the rain that was coming down harder than before, and neither did Gibbs as he wiped his face on his sleeve.

"Unsanitary, that is," Gibbs muttered. "Remind me t' bring a cloth, next time."

Anamaria rolled her eyes, "Comin' from a man that slept in th' any any o' swine."

Gibbs opened his mouth to deny it but Anamaria smiled. "Don't bother. Will already told me all 'bout it."

"That whelp."

"Y'mean, my whelp. Ow..."

The two turto sto see Jack and Will stepping into the rain from the captain's cabin. Jack rubbed his side but looked smug. Gibbs smiled.

"Good t' see ya up an' about, lad."

Anamaria looked him over, "Lookin' better."

Will smiled weakly, still recovering. Jack grinned and turned his attention to the previously forgotten, and terrified, third captive that was to be killed. "Ah, good. Still one left."

"What's going on?" Anamaria asked, twisting her soaked hair away from her face.

"Just stepped out for a meal, Ana," Jack grinned as he looked her over. "An' you might want t' get inside an' dry soon."

Anamaria glared at him and crossed her arms in front of her. Gibbs chuckled and tugged at her arm. "He's right, lass. Ye have 'nough trouble wit' th' crew as is."

Gibbs dragged the protesting Anamaria away, leaving Jack and Will to watch and listen in amusement and there was some yelling then the sound of something falling from below deck. Convinced the two wouldn't be coming back, Jack started to move towards the captive. He got four steps before he felt a punch on his arm.
at wat was that for?"
okinoking at Ana."

Jack frowned, "But I didn't-"

Will raised an eyebrow and Jack sighed. "Weren't you sty?sty?"

The young man nodded and Jack moved to the captive. Making a note to thank Anamaria later for gagging the man, Jack severed the ropes holding the man to the mast and kept a firm grip on the back of his neck.

"No point in runnin', mate. Only water, sharks, and pirates 'round 'ere," Jack said softly, pushing the man to his knees and baring his neck.

"Demon," the man hissed.

Jack smiled, "Not quite. Good guess though."

Will shook his head when Jack signalled him to come over. "I can't. I can't kill a man like this."

Jack frowned, "Will, you need to. An' it's a quicker death than guttin' the man."

"I-"

"Will, you need to. You need it now. You won't later. Well, not as much. But you do now."

"I don't know what to do..."

Jack smiled, pleased that that had gotten through Will's head. "Close your eyes and listen. When you hear 'is blood, your new instincts will take over."

Will nodded and did as he was told. His mind quickly shut out the pounding of the rain and crashing of waves against the wood of the ship, focusing only on the fast beating of the captive's heart. He idly noted that his hearing was much improved now.

Standing back when Will had taken hold of his victim, Jack watched. He knew Will had had enough by the younger man shoving the body away and sitting back, panting for breath. Jack pulled Will to his feet, one hand fisted in the younger man's shirt. He ran his tongue over the corner of Will's lips where some of the blood had smeared before kissing him fully.

"Feel better, love?" Jack asked softly, kicking the body off of the deck before nipping at Will's jaw.

"Much... You?"

Jack grinned, "I will when we get out of these wet clothes, you into bed... An' me into you."

"Bl pir pirate."

Nice place to leave off for the night, eh? Well, some explanations should be next chapter. Okay, I'm just dedicating this whole fic to Nicole, just for cheering me up so well.
