Chapter 31

Chapter 31

She woke up to him kissing her stomach. His hands were rubbing her belly and he was kissing and nuzzling her. He didn’t know she was awake and she could hear him talking. “I hope you are just like your mother.”

“And what if he’s just like his father? Would that be a problem? I happen to think very highly of his father.” He looked up into her smiling face.

“Good afternoon, beautiful.”

“What time is it?”

“It’s about 2:45 pm. We slept the day away.”

“I could stay in bed the rest of the day. I feel like a very large man put me through a wringer. You wore me out and I’m sore…everywhere.”

He crawled up beside her and kissed her forehead. “Do you want me to kiss all your aches and make them go away?”

“This isn’t funny. I’m going to be walking funny for a week and I don’t even want to think about sitting down!”

“Baby, I was going to go easy on you but you told me to take you and you pushed right back. God, you’re sexy when you pout.”

“I am not pouting. I need a shower.” She rolled over on her stomach and rested her head on her crossed arms. “Would you be a dear and run me a shower?”

His eyes ran over the sides of her large breasts, down her perfect ass, and along her tone legs. “I’d be happy to.” He got up and looked back to her ass. “You know maybe you should get another tat right here.” He leaned down and bit her on her right cheek.

“Ow! Dominic, I said I’m sore.”

“I’ll fix that for you, baby. I’ll be back to get you.” He smiled and went into the bathroom.

She started to doze off while he was gone. She was exhausted from a day full of sex and her hospital ordeal. She felt him roll her over and pick her up. He carried her into the shower, set her on her feet, and leaned her against the tile wall.

He washed every inch of her sore body taking great care to be gentle on her abdomen and between her legs. He pulled her back to his chest and washed her long black tresses. She was boneless against him and he grinned at the memory of wearing her out. He moved her under the spray of water and placed her hands against the wall for support.

He watched her run the water over her hair and rinse out the shampoo as he washed his own body. “Mick?”

“Yes, love.”

“You said he.”

“Yes I did.” She moved back against the wall so he could rinse off.

“We’re having a boy?”

“I can feel it. We are definitely having a son.”

He stood in front of her and smiled with tears in his eyes. “A son to carry on the family name. God, I love you.” He kissed her and then knelt and kissed her flat washboard stomach. “And I love you.”

Her smile drifted away when he mentioned the family name but she brushed off the thought when he stood up and looked at her. “What is it, Mick?”

Her thought of being unmarried was instantaneous and she was surprised he tuned into it. “It’s nothing.” She smiled and tried to cover up her slip. “I’m just tired, baby.”

He frowned at her poor excuse. “You’re lying.”

“And you’re prying. You don’t need to know my every thought.” She walked out of the shower, dried her body, and ran the towel over her hair.

He watched her as he dried his own body and smiled. He knew exactly what she was thinking. His control was absolute.

“Dominic?”

“Yes baby.”

“I have a surprise coming for you and I need to go pick it up. Actually, I need you to drop me off at the airstrip.”

His curiosity was piqued. He knew she wouldn’t run from him again and she did not want to return to the states but how would she get home? “What time, precious?”

She smiled at his trust of her. “The planes arrive at 4:00 pm so you need to drop me off and be gone by 15 til.” She walked into the closet.

“Planes?”

She came back out with a cropped black tank and a pair of black shorts. “Yep. Planes as in more than one.” She slipped on the tank that stopped just below her breasts and pulled on her shorts. “Two planes. One has your gift and the other has one for all of us.”

He remembered her telling Leon to be back by tomorrow and got confused. “I thought the surprise wasn’t supposed to be here until tomorrow?” He grabbed some clothes from the closet and got dressed.

“Eavesdropper. I told Leon to be here by then because I’m going to need him here. The surprise isn’t going anywhere by then and I didn’t want Letty to have to stick around for too long if she isn’t comfortable being here.” She watched him cover his glorious flesh in a white t-shirt and black gym shorts.

“Okay baby. I know when you want to be mysterious there is nothing I can do about it but promise me this isn’t going to hurt you.”

He cupped her cheek in his palm and she nuzzled into his touch. “I promise I will not be hurt.”

“Okay. Let’s go but I want you to know I hate letting you out of my sight.”

He directed her to the stairs by her shoulders and they walked down. “After this I won’t ever leave your side again unless you want me to.”

They went through the kitchen and into the garage. “I’d never want you to leave my side!” He opened the door for her to get in and she looked at him like he was insane.

“Dominic, two things. First, I can’t believe you wouldn’t want some time alone to yourself or just to be with your friends.”

He tipped up her chin with his index finger and stared into her dark eyes. “Never without you. What’s the second thing?”

She snatched the keys from his hand and gave him a wicked grin. “This is my car and unless I feel like shit or otherwise I’m driving.” She walked around to the driver’s side and laughed at his expression. “Come on, lover. Don’t you trust me?”

She got in and started the engine. He shut the door and pulled on his seatbelt. She giggled and he smiled at her. “You said you wouldn’t die in a car.”

“Brian used the same excuse. Didn’t Letty race? You trusted her to drive but not me?” She whipped the car into reverse, as it spun into the street; she slapped it into gear and sent it flying down the road. “You men are pathetic creatures.” She slid around the corner without breaking and straightened out the car and punched it.

He was impressed with his little spitfire’s driving ability. It rivaled his own but, she was angry and contrary to her words, it wasn’t with him. “You have to be angry to drive this way, don’t you?”

“Yes. I take my anger of losing Rob out on the road. Racing killed him and this is my warped way of fighting it.” She looked at him with angry eyes. “I do not feel alive doing this like the rest of you. It is a constant reminder of death and this is my way of giving death the finger.”

His deep laughter filled the car and he grabbed her hand on the gearshift. “Good for you, baby.”

She smiled and turned her attention back to the road. “Did you trust her to drive?”

“Herself not me. It isn’t in the genetic makeup of men to trust women to drive them. Your horns are showing, Mick.”

“Damn straight they are.” She pulled onto the road leading to the tarmac and skidded to a stop. She looked through the windshield and saw the first plane approaching. “Shit! The son of a bitch is early. Come on!” They got out and he came around to her side. She pushed him towards the door. “Go on! Get out of here before I have to fire somebody for ruining my surprise!”

“Okay.” He grabbed her waist and pulled her into his body. “I love you. I’ll see you at home.” He brushed a kiss over her lips and pulled back.

“I love you too.” She smiled and then furrowed her brow. “Now beat it!”

He laughed and climbed into the car. “I’m going!” He shut the door and rolled down the window. “My family better be home soon, Mick, or I’ll hunt you down…again.” He smiled at her and headed out of the airfield.

She watched her silver beast carry her love away and turned to see the cargo plane start its descent. She looked back up into the sky and saw the passenger jet circling; waiting for the runway to clear. The plane landed and veered off towards the larger tarmac before it came to a stop. The back hatch lowered and some men walked out.

One man walked up to her and nodded his head in greeting. His eyes never met her gaze. “Milady.”

“Are they all on board?”

“Yes milady. All four are just as you instructed. I have two men to take them to your residence and I will follow to bring us back.”

“Good. Start unloading them. I want to get home as soon as the jet lands.”

“As you wish, milady.” He nodded again and returned to the plane.

The jet was descending as she watched him walk back to the plane. She hated being addressed like that and absolutely loathed the fact that none of her people had the backbone to look her in the eyes. ‘They’re all afraid of me.’ She didn’t care about any of these people but their fright of her bothered her deeply. It was a reminder of how things have always been.

The ramp of the jet had lowered and her captain was coming towards her carrying luggage. She sighed when she received the same treatment from him. “Milady. Your guest is gathering his belongings and will join you shortly.”

“Thank you. You can leave his bags here.” She watched him set down the luggage and could sense his unease. It wasn’t like the others. He was the only person she had spoken to in length for over 2 years. He cared for her but knew his place and position. “Anton.”

He turned towards her but averted his eyes. “Nothing changes, Anton. I expect to see you twice a week as usual.”

“But milady…”

“I’ll deal with it. Keep this envelope for yourself and when you return to the states use the secondary airfield that we arranged for this occasion. You still have access to my accounts so business as usual. Okay?”

His eyes were misted over when they met hers and she was stunned. “Be careful, milady.”

“I will, Anton. I’ll see you in a couple of days.” He nodded and turned back towards the jet. She saw her guest walk down the ramp and exchange goodbyes with Anton. The pilot indicated her to him and he walked over to her. “I’ve been expecting you. How was your flight?”

He took in her form and grinned. “Long but liberating. What did I do that merits a honey like you getting my ass out of the fire?”

“Apparently, you are important to some people I care about. My name is Mikaela.” She extended her hand, which he accepted and kissed. It felt different from Brian’s kiss and she pulled her hand free of his grasp. “Let’s get two things straight before we go any further. First off is your ass belongs to me. You owe me for getting you here.”

He grinned lecherously at her. “I like the sound of that. And the second?” She rolled her eyes and threw a right cross at his jaw that knocked him to his ass.

“Nobody touches me but my man. Now get up. I promised him we’d be home soon.”

He rubbed his jaw, smiled, and got to his feet. “I like that in a woman. Your old man is a lucky fucker.”

She returned his smile. “I guess he is.”

“How do we get to your house? You got a cab or something?” She turned him towards the cargo plane by his shoulder and he saw the unloaded contents. He whistled at the beauty facing him.

“You can pick between the black and the red. The silver is for my mate and the blue was specially painted for a friend.”

“I can pick? One of those is mine?” He looked at her like she was a genie who made wishes come true.

“Yep. Black or red? Pick now, load your shit up, and I’ll take you to your new home.” She waved to the men to bring the 4 matching Ferraris over to them.

His eyes lit up when the cars parked near them. “Black. I want the black one!” She nodded at the driver and he got out and loaded the luggage into the car. “Did you say new home?”

She got the keys for the black and silver cars from the men and tossed him his set. “Well, you’re not living in my house! Come on. There are some people waiting to meet you.”

They both got in and led the other 3 cars out of the strip and towards her neighborhood. Ten minutes later, she stopped at the top of her road. She left the car on and they all met in the street. “There are garage door openers in all 3 on the dash. My house’s door is open. The blue one goes in the house to the left of mine. The red one goes in the house to the right and your house is on the right of that one.” She looked at the drivers of the extra cars. “Leave the keys on the seat, close the garage door, and leave.” She turned to her guest. “The keys are yours, the house key is on the kitchen counter, the place is fully furnished, so unpack your shit and meet me on the beach behind my house in 20 minutes.” She got back in the car and drove into her garage. The others did the same and she watched with a grin as they made the delivery and took off without a hitch.

Dom came into the garage and looked at the matching cars. She got out with a smile and tossed him the keys. “This is your car. Keep your hands off of mine.” She walked past him into the house and laughed at his grinning face.

She found Mia in the kitchen and gave her a hug. “Hey baby girl! Oh yeah, you are cooking. I am so hungry.”

“Hey back mama. Of course I’m cooking. I have to feed the mother of my nephew.” Dom walked into the kitchen with a stunned look on his face just as Brian came running through the patio doors in a rush. “Honey, where is the fire?”

He held a set of keys in his hand and looked at Mikaela. “In our garage. You bought me a car?” She nodded her head and looked at Dom, who raised his set of keys. “You got one too?”

“Matches hers exactly. It’s silver and sleek.”

Brian smiled brightly. “Mine is fire red.”

Mikaela turned to Mia and put an arm around her shoulders. “I didn’t know what to get you. I didn’t think you’d want a Ferrari but you’re welcome to anything that intrigues you.”

“Believe it or not, I’m not that interested in fast cars either. I can’t believe you bought them those considering how much you hate them.”

She gave both the smiling men a stern look and their expressions sobered up. “They will behave, Mia. Trust me. I think they know I can be a real witch when I’m angry.”

The guys started to whisper about their new cars and Mikaela moved off to take another place setting to the table out on the patio. Mia followed her out and saw her rearranging the plates to accommodate a 5th person. “Are we expecting someone?”

“Yep. I’m going to change. I’ll be down in a minute.” She went up to her room and grabbed a hot pink string bikini with a sarong wrap for her waist. The top barely consisted of 2 scraps of cloth that covered her nipples and a small amount of the surrounding flesh. Her tattoos were visible to the eye. The bottoms had a small triangle of cloth that was attached to 4 strings. The bottom two strings slipped between her cheeks and she tied them into bows on both hips with the front strings. With the wrap knotted at one hip, she went to join the others outside.

When she walked out on the patio, Dom’s eyes darkened at the sight of her. He got to his feet and pulled her against him. His mouth went to the side of her neck and he bit her gently. “You look good enough to eat.”

“You did that recently and I’m more than happy to oblige you later but I have to get your surprise.”

He looked at her and asked. “I thought the car was the surprise.”

“Nope. That was a gift. I’ll be right back.” She could sense him approaching so she disengaged herself from Dom’s grasp and headed across the beach and down the incline.

“Hey. Damn you look fucking hot.”

“Thanks. Is everything to your liking?” His eyes ran the length of her body and she rolled her eyes. “I meant with the house, you pig!”

“Yeah. Everything is great.”

“Good. Come on. Lunch is ready.” She turned to go to the house and felt his hand on her arm.

“Mikaela.” She turned her black eyes to him and found sincerity in his face. “Thank you for what you did.” He saw her glance at his hand on her arm and he quickly released her.

“You’re welcome.”

“I know it must’ve cost you a lot.”

She averted her eyes for a moment and he could’ve sworn he saw anxiety pass over her features before her eyes returned to his. “You have no idea how much this is going to cost me.”

“Then why did you do it?”

She smiled and tilted her head towards the house. “Walk up that hill and find out.”

His face turned serious at facing the unknown but he took her challenge and started up the hill with her behind him. He saw 3 people sitting on her patio and one stood up and stared at them as they cleared the hill.

“Vince!”

“I know that voice.” He turned and saw her smiling face.

“Go to your friends, Vince.”

He ran towards the house and left her behind. “Dom!”

Mia and Brian followed Dom out to meet their friend. The 2 men were embracing when they caught up. “She did it.” Mia whispered with tears in her eyes.

Vince turned to her and wrapped her in his arms. “Mia.”

“Hey Vince. It’s good to have you home.”

Brian cleared his throat and Vince released Mia and looked at him. “Brian.”

“Vince.”

“I suppose I owe you for saving my life.” He extended his bandaged arm and shook Brian’s hand. “Thanks…buster.”

Brian laughed and shook his head. “Something’s never change and I’m not the only one you owe.”

“You aren’t kidding, man. That babe over there got me out of jail, flew me here on a private jet, gave me a Ferrari, a house, and my family back.”

They all turned to see Mikaela still standing at the top of the hill looking out at the ocean. Dom walked away from the group and went to her.

“Who is she and do I have a chance with her?”

Brian answered the second question while he stared at the couple. “No chance in hell, Vince.”

“And you’re about to find out why and who she is.” Mia chimed in.

Dom came up behind her, turned her around to face him, picked her up by her waist, and kissed her passionately.

“What is going on here? I’m gone for a week and everything is whacked.”
