Jesse was frustrated. She hadn’t seen Donna or Thomas all day. It was Saturday, and it had been her turn for a day off to go into town. Now that Donna was nowhere to be found, she had to stay at Camp.
It wasn’t all bad. Tommy was here of course, but lately he seemed agitated. Jesse had asked around, and none of the other kids had been teasing him, in fact, some of the older ones had tried to include him more in their activities lately.
The day was very hot, and as evening approached, there was no sign of things cooling off much that night.
*Figures* Jesse thought, *last night when it was my watch, it was freezing, just my luck I guess*
She decided to take a late swim after dinner. As she left her cabin, the lake sparkled invitingly in the clear moonlight.

Luke and Kevin were kicking back of the front porch of their cabin watching the night sky.
At least, that’s what they would say to Beth should she suddenly join them.
In the lake, Jesse could be seen. She swam well.
“Heard from Thomas and Donna?” Kevin asked.
Luke grinned mischievously.
“Well…they must REALLY be having a good time then.” He said as he fingered a plastic bag in his pocket. His eyes were drawn back to the lake.
Kevin noticed his interest. In a low voice he asked. “You’ve got something in mind?”
Luke nodded. “Yeah, I do.” He gestured towards the lake. “It’s just too much to let a good piece like that go completely to waste this summer.”
Kevin nodded. “I know what you mean. Don’t tell Beth, but Jesse is definitely one fine piece of ass.”
“What if Jesse loosened up a bit?” Luke asked as he pulled the plastic bag out of his pocket.
Kevin stared at the pills in amazement.
“You want to drug her?!”
Luke placed the bag on the low table between them. “It’s tempting.” He sighed. “I couldn’t do that really…but there’s something about being able to. You know?”
Kevin nodded. “All there is to do now is wait for someone to come out of the water.”
Luke grinned. “Yeah.”

Jason stood in the brush behind the two bad boys. They were now discussing “basketball” something of little importance to him. But his eyes narrowed on the object of their more interesting discussion still lying on the table between them.
Drugs were bad.
He wasn’t quite ready to kill these two yet, merely marking them for termination. Patience was most definitely his strong suit.
But they had discussed the girl. The good girl.
If she took drugs, that would make her bad. Then Jason could kill her.
But….
If she didn’t know she was taking them….did that make her bad?
It was a gray area. Jason didn’t believe in gray areas, but that question was undoubtedly a gray area.
If these boys went so far as to slip drugs into her food or drink and she was totally unaware….
Jason’s head hurt.
A gray area was unacceptable. The possibility had to be removed.

Jesse was enjoying her swim. The bright moonlight made the lake really clear….
*What’s that?* She wondered.
There was something at the bottom of the lake that didn’t look like it belonged there.
She dove down to have a look.

As Jason walked through the trees along the water, he felt something. He stopped and stood still a moment. It was….a presence.
He looked out at the lake.
The girl was there. She’d found the place where he’d once been imprisoned. The place where he was forced to wait several years before a telekinetic girl accidentally released him.
Was that bad?
No. It didn’t matter in the least. But he had been…surprised that he was suddenly aware of her presence there.
Jason thought of all the other times bad girls went swimming at night. Naked whores in his lake.
This girl was in the lake at night. His hand tightened on his machete. HE was about to kill a naked swimmer.

Jesse’s head ached from the water pressure, but wasn’t too worried. The object of her attention was only about twenty feet down. It was a great big rock. Now what was a great big rock doing here? The lake bottom was all fine sand…this rock was completely out of place.
*What’s this?* Jesse swam closer. Muck had nearly obscured it, but without a doubt, there was a great big chain attached to the rock. She could just see the end of the chain. Broken.
She couldn’t stay down any longer. She headed for the surface.
Happy to be breathing fresh clean air, she swan easily back to the dock. It looked like someone was standing on the shore.
Thinking it might be Director Bradley, Jesse hurried to get on the dock.

Jason looked down at the shore. Yes. Shorts, a tank top, and a nearby towel. The girl was definitely being bad. He looked up in time to catch her looking over at him, but she didn’t look concerned. She pulled herself up on the dock…..
Jason’s head tilted in utter confusion. The girl was wearing a full bathing suit.
He looked back down at the clothing. No panties.
She’d worn her clothes over her suit coming down to the lake.
Jason felt….cheated. Had this ever happened before?
No.

Jesse was concerned. There was a guy standing on the shore, but it wasn’t the Director. And he was standing over her clothes. Was that a hockey mask on his face?
Jesse reached the end of the dock. Her view of the man was obstructed briefly by the gear shack where they kept paddles and floaties for the kids. But as she came around the side of it ready to give the intruder hell….
There was no one there.

“Uh Oh. Someone doesn’t look too happy. Did you put that shit away?” Kevin asked Luke as he stood to meet a dripping and furious looking Jesse.
“What is going on? Was one of you guys just screwing around down by the lake or what?” Jesse asked.
Kevin looked puzzled. “Down by the lake? No. Luke and I have been sitting right here since you went down yourself, right Luke?”
“Ummm....”
“Then there’s some strange guy running around the camp. He’s even wearing a hockey mask of all things.” Jesse said.
Kevin started to grin. “You….I don’t believe this. You’re joking with us right! I mean…come on.”
“No Kevin, this isn’t a joke.” She said.
“Then someone’s joking with all of us….must be Thomas! He must have drug up that old story Director Bradley mentioned.”
“What story?” Jesse asked.
“We aren’t supposed to talk about it. Don’t want to scare the campers. Some bad shit happened out here a long time ago. It turned into a legend about some psycho slaughterer roaming Crystal Lake kind of bullshit.”
Jesse turned to Luke for confirmation. Instead he looked as though he hadn’t heard a word. To be fair, he actually looked worried.
“Luke?” Jesse inquired.
Luke went from worried to upset. “It’s not here…..I laid it here….I swear.”
Kevin looked at him, then at the table.
The baggie of drugs was gone.
“Shit Luke! What if some little kid finds that?”
“What’s wrong?” Jesse asked
“I laid some of my shit here. Right here! I didn’t misplace it….Oh geez. I don’t want anyone to get hurt.” Luke looked ill.
Jesse rolled her eyes. “I’m going to get dry and into some clothes. Then we’re all going to look for it. Luke, what was in the bag?”
He ran a hand through his hair. “Ecstasy, some Roofies, and some LSD.” He looked a little ashamed as Jesse glared.
“We’ll find it.” She said tightly. With that she headed for her cabin.
