Disclaimer:
I do not own the Pirates of the Caribbean movie series, nor any of the characters from it. I do not make any money from the writing of this story.
Musing and Frustration
Note to self: When making an omlette, make sure you have everything you need already there... I still can't believe I actually made something edible. Eh... I can't believe I'm coherent before noon... Ow, stupid daylight.
Nicole: This was meant to be out earlier! So sorry for not giving you any more fuel for your dreams. But that dream you did have...I hope you realize that I will eventually have to write that whole AU as a series, right? Just think, the adventures of young pirates... Poor Bootstrap.
Earen: I'm my own inspiration. ;) I'm using the creations from the manuscript I'm working on. Not so much vampires as immortals that need to replenish their blood and are too lazy to get transfusions. ;) And no! No sharp pointy things! You can have a lolly though.
Rommie: You hate me?! *sniffs and wipes at eyes* Heehee, don't worry, I'll get to work on LotR... uhm... Eventually....heh...
Alyssa: Sorry! It squicks me too, but I think I'm just used to it by now.
Beth: Thanks for taking that to heart, one liners tend to annoy me, do more harm than good. Anyway, Will did know, and there're a few flashbacks that come up to help illustrate some of the things. By all means! Ask your questions, lets me know just what I need to write.
InsanePirate: Hmmm... I seem to be getting comments like that a lot...About the brilliance, I mean. Don't believe a word of it, personally; but I guess I'm doing something right. Thanks. :) Heh, hope I can keep up this pace as is. ;)

Will woke to one of Jack's hand in his hair, and the other on his thigh. He felt rejeuvenated, but there was a gnawing feeling that annoyed him; he was still thirsty, just not as much. He opened his eyes, only to shut them again quickly.
Jack chuckled, "That'll go 'way too, love."
Snuggling against Jack's chest, Will frowned. "How long?"
"A day, maybe two."
Will groaned, glaring at Jack when he felt the hand on his thigh move to settle lower. "Not again."
Jack lifted his hand, bringing his fingers, now carrying the remains of his seed, to his lips. "Don't worry, love. Twice was enough, at least until later."
"I hate you..."
Chuckling, Jack shifted so he was on top of Will. "You didn't say that last night. In fact," he leaned down to kiss Will; "you didn't really say anything last night."
Pulling Jack to him, Will kissed the older man. "I really hate you."
"I know. You're also thirsty."
"And how do you know that?"
Jack moved so that he could nip at Will's neck, licking at the small trickle of blood he had released with a tiny scratch. "I can sense it in you... Among other things..."
"Like what?"
"Anything."
Will pushed Jack off of him, "Should I ask?"
Jack grinned, "No. Still gives me a headache t' think o' it."
Shaking his head, Will sat up, blinking in an attempt to convince his eyes to adjust to the sun's light. He felt Jack's arms around him again.
"Made for th' night, love," Jack kissed Will's neck. "You might as well stay in 'til y'get used t' it."
Will frowned, "I can still work."
"You can, but you'd go blind by noon, lad," pushing Will to lay back, Jack got up. "Just sleep. Trust me, love, you'll want it by th' time we get t' Tortuga."
Jack left before Will could protest and there was the sound of a securing 'click' as the door was locked from the outside. As he went to go wake the rest of the crew, Jack wondered how long Will was going to be angry at him.
**********
Will found himself unable to do anything but pace. He resigned himself to not sleeping, just because he knew that was what Jack expected him to do. He kicked the chair at the desk in frustration before falling onto the bed. Aside from being bored, the minimal light that managed to escape the 'curtain' over the small window still managed to sting Will's photosensitive eyes, and he closed them in an attempt to drive off the pain of the light and the desire to drink.
He could remember the first time he found out about this new 'curse'. Two months after joining the crew of the Black Pearl, Will had found Jack with Anamaria and Gibbs in the brig where they were getting rid of any captives that didn't have any useful information. Seeing Jack wipe the blood away from his mouth, and the torn throat of the body that Jack had just let fall to the floor, that alone had been too much for Will.
Jack had found him, and explained what he could, laughing about it in his usual manner. But there was a tentative silence when he finished, judging Will's reaction in the calculating ways he had. At first, Will hadn't known what to do. How could anyone react to something like that?
Will burried his face in the pillow on the bed, frustrated at the combination of the growing thirst, the sting of the light when he so much as glanced at the window, and the irritating throb of the now-healed wound on his neck. He groaned and hoped Jack would come back soon, just to give him something to do.
***********
Jack sighed, he could feel Will's frustration, but knew that the lad would need to learn how to keep the thirst at bay, as well as keep from going blind. He smirked, he rather liked having Will being able to see. At least he had given Will some form of explanation, which had been more than what Bootstrap gave him.
He could still remember his friend just locking him in the room they had rented in some port town. He had wanted nothing more than to tear out Bootstrap's throat afterwards, and he almost had. But when he fed from Bootstrap later on, at the other's urging, the thirst had been pushed back to the point of tolerance. It had all but faded after that.
Anamaria and Gibbs hadn't been able to feed from another like them, as Jack had turned Gibbs almost by accident (he came close to swearing off drinking after that, then thought better of it). And Gibbs had turned Anamaria. Neither were able to resist the temptation of blood as long as Jack, and the captain had every intention of sparing Will from that desire for as long as possible.
Of course, this would mean putting up with a pouty Will for a few days, but Jack knew ways around that. He smiled and brought his bottle of rum to his lips. It would be an interesting night.

There should be some action next chapter, sorry for the boredom. :( I need to explain my version of the 'vampire' a bit, since they aren't like the others in most books that I've read. The only similarity to Anne Rice's vamps is that after a while, blood is no longer needed. And with this, I've changed the original ideas I used for my manuscript to have them desire and need blood a bit more like the normal vamps we all know and love. ...I just got this weird image of Jack advertising hemoglobin for some reason...
Okay, done babbling! Let me know! More action next time, I promise. And a twist too (well, not really, but it should be interesting.)
