For Friendship
Any damage the Sentinels had caused, once the crew had escaped, was soon-after rectified. Cat was working alongside Niobe in fixing some of the damage. With torch in hand, she was putting on some finishing touches. During the course of mending parts of the ship, however, conversation was flowing between the two. Conversation about Cyren...and Jonathan.
Cat lifted the welding mask, revealing that pretty, alabaster face. Her gaze met Niobe’s chocolate-brown eyes.
"We need to try to get him out. I can’t even believe it’s been two years and Cyren hasn’t said anything about this."
Niobe replied sagely, "I know your care for your friend, but Jonathan is your age now, whereas you were unplugged three years ago, and even that was considered too late..."
"...But we went ahead and took the risk, Niobe. Isn’t this worth the risk, too?” Cat interrupted, a searching look in her amber-browns. "We at least have to give him that chance. These two deserve to be together, otherwise, he wouldn’t still be looking for her after these past years, don’t you think?"
There was a sigh of resignation. Niobe’s doe eyes looked almost sadly at Cat, not wanting to meet the repercussions if this didn’t work out. But...Cat was right. They could not tell Cyren about this. They could not tell Jonathan about Cyren – but it was the right thing to do. It was a risk that had to be taken.

Cat had Jonathan in her specs. The sun glinted off his hair like spun gold. A quick call to Bios on her cell, confirmed that she had located himhin hin the Matrix. The next step was to walk up to him, and despite her past few years doing this – it was never easy.
Her knee-high, stiletto heeled boots clicked mutely upon the pavement. That low, sultry, Latina accent inquired, "Jonathan?"
She was met with a pair of gorgeous blues. Deeper than those of Agent Smith’s, albeit, not as clear ice as Smith’s… And heavens, why was she thinking of Smith at a time like this???
A perplexed look crossed Jonathon’s handsome features. "Do I know you?" Yep. English through and through. Right down to that crisp accent that could make any girl want to swoon at his feet.
"Not yet – but I know you. I know that you’ve been on your computer, night after night, searching for answers whose questions you are even uncertain. I can offer you those answers. Interested?"
He moistened his lips, formulating a reply. Well shaped brows furrowed at the seeming insanity of such an offer. But she had hit the nail on the head. He was curious, indeed. He knew there were questions which he had not yet formulated in his mind, yet knew he had to find the answers. Finally, he just gave a slow nod of his head.
"Meet me later this evening, say, 7 p.m, by Estero Beach. Try by the volley ball courts. Do we have a date?" She kind of didn’t like how that sounded, but she was trying to hide her anxiousness. What if he refused to find out the truth? For Cyren’s sake, she hoped that would not be the case.
Jonathan met her gaze, dead on, a seriousness deep in his azure eyes. "I’ll be there."
That tone of conviction in his voice was enough to convince her. It was now her turn to nod, after which she continued to walk by him, as though she was going down that direction anyway. He did not even realize until too late, that he did not even know her name.
