Chapter six

Authoress note: Thanks again for the second review. On the thing about Jones and what he wants to do to Rebecca, um….I am trying to figure that at the moment. And I am still trying to decide if in this there will be a happy ending or Rebecca’s death. I need suggestions please.

Chapter six:

“ Good luck tonight.” Maccus started. Rebecca nodded. The night was again clear. She loved it.

“ Thank you, Maccus.” She whispered. Her dear friend nodded and took his leave.

Rebecca leaned over the side and looked down at the waters and sighed. Feeling very bored. Something crossed her mind. Maybe it was her singing that soothed the dreaded Kraken. She wanted to be sure. She looked around to make sure no one but the one steering the Flying Dutchman was there.

She opened her mouth to sing ‘ Ocean Soul’ A song her mother once sang to her.

“ One more night to bear this nightmare. What more do I have to say? Crying for me was never worth a tear. My lonely soul is only filled with fear.” She paused as she heard the could of peace from a great beast below the Flying Dutchman.

The water rippled and gently bubbled below her. She smiled slightly and continued,” Long hours of loneliness between me and the sea. Losing emotion. Finding devotion should I dress in white or search the sea as I’ve always wished to be one with the waves. Ocean soul….”

As she paused again, a long, large tentacle crawled from under the water, and up the Flying Dutchman. Rebecca’s eyes widened. She had never seen the Kraken up this close before.

And, Rebecca had no idea, she was being watched. Closely by Davy Jones. He stood beside the stairs. He had never seen the Kraken bond so well with anyone like this before. But he was not surprised though either. She had an amazing voice.

Rebecca took in a deep breath as she continued to sing. Reached out to touch the beast’s tentacle before her,” Walking the tide line. I hear your name. Is angels whispering..” She stopped, in shock. The Kraken was letting her touch.

And it groaned with her caress around it’s tentacle. Rebecca smiled and wrapped her arms around what was exposed of the beast. But abruptly it yanked from her and slid below. Rebecca turned around. Jones stared at her.

She looked down as he approached her slowly.” Quite a talent you have, Rebecca.” He started. His tone was not harsh and cold as it normally was.

“ Thank you.” Rebecca whispered. Still not looking at him.

Jones stood face to face with her. Both of them so close, though Rebecca would not mind them being closer. Davy Jones lifted his hand and tilted her chin so that he could stare into her eyes. “ Maccus tells me you intend on challenging me for your freedom.” He mused.

“ Aye sir. I think that I am here unjustly. “ She responded honestly.

Davy Jones studied her closely. He knew that she was here unjustly. At times he had regrets in accepting her father’s place. Other times, he was grateful for her being there. “ Did you intend on challenging me anytime soon?” Jones asked.

Rebecca nodded slightly, becoming awash with desire in his touch. But she responded none the less,” Yes, sir. I was going to do it earlier today, but I had made you so mad that I nearly forgot.”

Jones nodded.” I’ll accept yer offer, Rebecca. If you win….I will grant you freedom. “

“ And if you win?” She asked with a lifted eyebrow.

“ If I win? I’ll decide then and there.” Jones responded. Rebecca stared longer into his eyes. They’re bodies so close together.

“ Do you still love her?” Rebecca asked softly, and very sudden. Jones slipped his hand from her and stared in near disbelief at her. “ I saw the locket.” She muttered.

Jones glanced around for a moment, but responded. “ How do you know that she gave me the locket?” He asked her stepping back for a moment.

Rebecca, turned to look at the open ocean, and leaned over the edge of the Flying Dutchman. Jones mimicked her and leaned over, close beside her. For a moment there were no words exchanged between the two. Both seemed to become lost in the vast ocean and all it’s beauty.
