chapter 6
Chapter 6:
A/N: Sorry it’s been such a long time since I last updated this story! I just kind of lost interest in it for a bit…but I think I have the perfect ending for it here. Jack is going to ask Elizabeth to permanently join his crew and stay by his side forever on the Pearl. Let me know what you think!

The sun was setting covering the Pearl in darkness save for the luminescent glow of the brilliant moon that hung high over the onyx colored ocean making the water sparkle like diamonds were floating on the top of it. Jack stood at the railing of the ship staring out to sea as he thought about what he intended to ask Elizabeth when she came up from below deck. Suddenly her voice cut through the slightly chilly night air making him turn around. A smile crept onto his face the moment he saw her. Her tawny hair was swept up into a messy ponytail with stray strands sticking out everywhere. Her shirt was dirty and a little damp with what he guessed could only be sweat since she had been down in the hold helping to clean out the old cargo that needed to be tossed out.
“Jack?”
“Over here love.”
Elizabeth smiled as she half walked half jogged over to where Jack was waiting for her. He slipped an arm around her when she shivered a little from the cool night air.
“Finished love?”
“Yes…finally!”
“Don’t know why ye insist on actually helping with all that darling.”
“I want you to treat me like a part of the crew.”
“Ye are part of the crew Izzy.”
“Well then don’t give me any special treatment.”
“I rather enjoy the special treatment I give ye.”
Elizabeth giggled at his suggestive remark before playfully smacking his chest.
“I have a little something for ye in the cabin darling.”
Jack guided Elizabeth towards the cabin pushing her gently ahead of him inside before shutting the door and locking it behind them. There in the farthest corner of the cabin was the bathtub filled to the brim with steaming water. Her tea colored eyes lit up when she saw it.
“Oh Jack…a bath? How did you know?”
“Jus’ knew love. Now let’s get ye out of those clothes.”
“That’s the best idea I’ve heard all day!”
Jack chuckled as he started helping her out of her dirty clothes. The moment she shed the last of her clothes she hurried over to the tub and eased herself into the warm steamy water. Her eyes closed as she sank down lower in the water.
“Feel better darling?”
“Most decidedly yes…Jack thank you.”
“Yer welcome Izzy.”
Jack knelt down behind her and reached for the lilac scented soap to bathe her.
“Lie back love.”
“What for?”
“So I can wash yer hair.”
Elizabeth laid back against the tub and tilted her head back so that Jack could wash her hair. Jack lathered her hair up with the lilac scented soap and began gently massaging her hair and scalp with his calloused hands. Her tea colored eyes slipped closed as Jack worked his fingers through her damp locks.
“Oh Jack…this feels so wonderful.”
Smiling he carefully cupped his hands and gathered water in them to rinse the soap from Elizabeth’s hair. When he had rinsed all the soap from her hair he carefully lathered up her skin and began massaging her tired muscles. Elizabeth could feel her body becoming limp under Jack’s mesmerizing touch. He rinsed the soap from her body and then stood to grab the linen for her to dry off with. Elizabeth stood up and let Jack wrap the linen around her wet body before she stepped out of the tub.
“Feel better darling?”
“Much…why all the romancing this evening Jack? What are you up to?”
“Up t’ Izzy?”
“Yes…what are you trying to do?”
She was a clever one… just one of the many things he found so utterly captivating about her. Jack smiled as he rubbed the linen against her wet skin absorbing the drops of water so that she wouldn’t catch cold standing there naked.
“M’ not up t’ anything darling. But…there is something I wanted t’ ask ye.”
“Ask me?”
“Aye…now let’s get ye into bed.”
Elizabeth gave a small yelp when he scooped her up linen and all and carried her to their bed. Pulling back the blanket Jack laid her carefully onto the mattress. Elizabeth unwrapped the now damp linen from her body and handed it to him. Jack draped it over the back of a chair and then began peeling off his clothes. Elizabeth couldn’t seem to keep her eyes off him as he undressed. Finally just as naked as she was he crawled into bed next to her. They turned on their sides to face each other. Reaching out Jack began twisting a piece of her damp hair around his finger absentmindedly.
“Jack?”
“Hmm?”
“You wanted to ask me something?”
“Aye…Izzy…yer happy here on the Pearl an’ with me right?”
“Of course I’m happy Jack.”
“Right…well I was jus’ thinking…being that Will…left ye t’ be taken back t’ Port Royal an’ all…”
“Jack…are you asking me to stay?”
“Maybe…unless course that’s not what ye want. Cause if it’s not then jus’ forget I said anything.”
“Jack…there’s nothing I want more than to stay here on the Pearl with you. My father’s dead and Will is gone too…there’s nothing for me in Port Royal.”
“So what bout us?”
“I love you…you’re the man I want to be with.”
“I love ye too Izzy…an’ that wasn’t easy for me t’ say…jus’ so ye know.”
“I know how hard it was for you to admit how you feel about me Jack. That’s why it means so much to me. There’s nothing I’d like more than to stay with you forever.”
“Then forever it is darling…the Pearl is yer home now.”
“No Jack…home to me is wherever you are.”
“I feel the same way bout ye Elizabeth. I never want t’ be without ye.”
“Then you won’t.”
Jack leaned in and slanted his weathered lips over Elizabeth’s silken ones as he pulled her tighter against him. For the first time in his life he didn’t feel like something was missing. Perhaps it was because with Elizabeth by his side he felt complete. She had been the treasure that he had spent years searching for and now he had finally found her. He might not be one to elaborate on how he felt for her but she understood that she meant everything to him. They had an unspoken bond and words just didn’t seem to be needed to express their love for each other. Yes Jack Sparrow had finally found the other half of his soul in the young woman that he had rescued from the harbor in Port Royal all those years ago and he couldn’t be happier than he was in that moment with her in his arms.
A/N: Okay that’s it…sappy sugary sweet I know…but I just thought it was a nice ending for Jack and Elizabeth since it took them so long to get to that point. Let me know what you thought!
