Chapter 22 "The Wedding"
Valerian and Colvin materialized in the chapel together just before Jareth and Sarah arrived. The chapel was breathtaking. There were enormous stained-glass windows that portrayed the entire history of the Goblin Kingdom beginning from when the Labyrinth was created until present time. As Colvin looked thoughtfully at each window, paying homage to their intricate detail, she noticed one in particular that sent a shiver down her spine. There was a young girl who stood face to face with the Goblin King as he held a small crystal tantalizingly in front of her. The girl looked remarkably like Sarah. The chapel was norelireligious place of worship, it was more a place of peace in the very center of the Labyrinth. This place gave a soothing energy that anyone could appreciate at the worst of times, like the eye of a storm. It was a place of reflection and remembrance.
"This place is so...beautiful."
Valerian smiled as he watched Colvin look around in awe. He only hoped she would look at his kingdom with the same admiration he saw glinting in her eyes. Colvin turned and looked at Valerian and smiled just as the two large carved Oak doors swung open to reveal the Goblin King and his queen-to-be.
Jareth offered Sarah his arm as Valerian and Colvin took their placed by the couple's side. Sarah looked around in wonderment, but she couldn't fail to notice that there seemed to be no one there to marry the two of them.
"Jareth, there is no priest here. How are we going to get married without the blessings of a priest?"
"The magic in this chapel will bind us together as one, but it cannot work unless you tell me that you wish to be bound to me through pure love. We Fae use this sort of ceremony for marriage. We do not have such use for 'Holy Men'. We will just look at each other in front of these witnesses and say our true feelings and vows. The magic will do the rest."
"Ok, well, I will let you start and I will follow your lead."
Jareth took Sarah by both of her tiny hands and looked deep within her green eyes, as if he were speaking to her very soul.
"Sarah, when you came to my Labyrinth so many years ago, and defeated me, I was lost to you. You took a part of me with you that day that I have felt incomplete without. You touched my heart in a way I believed no mortal or Fae ever could. I have spent the past six years thinking of nothing other than you. Since you have been near me of recent, I feel that long lost part of me has returned. Today, in front of these witnesses I ask you, Sarah Williams to love me as deeply as I love you, and to spend eternity by my side. I wish to be bound to you, Sarah, for all time and love none other than you if you will have me."
Sarah returned Jareth's deep gaze and could feel his magic flowing into her, becoming a part of her.
"I accept."
Jareth slid his hands across hers to comfort her and let her know that the magic was part of the binding ceremony. Sarah looked deep into Jareth's mismatched eyes and began to recite her vows.
"Jareth, since the first moment you appeared to me, you changed my world. You reordered time and turned the world upside down for me. As your wife and Queen, I will love you and serve you as my King for all eternity. Jareth, King of the Goblins, I ask you today to love me as your Queen of the Labyrinth forever. I wish to be bound to you, Jareth, for the rest of my days, and will love none other than you if you will have me."
A single tear slid down Jareth's cheek, "I accept."
Jareth felt Sarah's inner magic flow through him and it almost took his breath away. He knew she was strong, but he had no idea her soul was this powerful. He welcomed her energy and tightened his grip on her hands. After a few moments, all that remained of the magical experience was a slight tingling sensation. Both Jareth and Sarah felt like new beings, totally exhilarated.
Valerian stepped forward stealing a quick glance at Colvin.
"I hereby witness that Jareth, King of the Goblins, and Sarah Williams have been joined in the everlasting bonds of marriage."
Valerian stepped back and urged Colvin to step forward and state her witness claim.
"As Sarah's maid of honor, I do hereby witness that Sarah Williams, and Jareth, the Goblin King, are now married."
Sarah squeezed Jareth's arm gently and whispered in his ear, "I do believe our wedding night is in order."
Jareth smiled just enough to show his sharp teeth.
"Colvin, Valerian, Queen Sarah and I will take our leave from you now, if you don't mind."
Valerian winked at Sarah, as she blushed, and said, "By all means. Colvin and I can manage on our own."
Jareth put his arms around Sarah and they disappeared.
"Wow...I still never get tired of seeing that...Beam me up, Scotty!"
"Who is Scotty?"
"Don't worry about it, it is just a corny television show I used to watch."
"Oh...so where were we earlier?"
Colvin walked up to Valerian and put her arms around his waist playfully and said, "As I said, Beam me up Scotty, time to play."
Valerian raised an eyebrow and clutched her tight as the transportation spell took hold.
Moments later, Colvin and Valerian appeared in a huge great hall of a castle she didn't recognize.
"Where are we? This doesn't look like Jareth's castle."
"It's not. This one is mine." Valerian said with a satisfied smirk.
"This is yours?!? Wow, what type of creatures live here? This place is gigantic! Are there any of those cute Goblin Muppet-looking-things running around here too?"
"Well, I am only a Prince right now, this is actually my father's kingdom. He has left me to tend to his business while he is away on business. He will crown me King next year when he steps down from the throne. He feels this is good practice for me. And no, there are no 'Goblin Muppets' here as you put it. In fact, those Goblins would only serve as a snack to my subjects."
"Why would your father just retire? And what do you mean by 'Snack'??"
"My father is over two thousand years old. He feels it ise toe to pass the throne on to younger blood. Would you like to meet some of my subjects Colvin?"
"Not if I'm on the dinner menu!"
"No, no, don't worry. They know who their masters are, and they respect authority. I assure you, you are quite safe."
"Well, ok, but don't leave me alone with them, whatever they are..."
Valerian took Colvin's hand gently in his and led her out to a large window at the far end of the great hall. Colvin stepped up to the window and looked out onto the horizon...
"Valerian...are those what I think they are?"
"Colvin, meet my subjects, the dragons."
"Are...are they real?"
"Of course they are! Would you like a closer look?"
"Yeah...sure...I think."
"Colvin, stand back, this may come as quite a shock."
Colvin took a step back and looked at Valerian strangely, wondering what he was about to do. Valerian took a deep breath and concentrated. Before Colvin's eyes, Valerian began to transform into an extremely large green dragon.
Colvin immediateackeacked up against the wall, stiff with fear. How could Valerian left her alone with this thing?! From out of nowhere, she heard Valerian's voice echo in the room.
"Don't be afraid Colvin, it's only me. I promise you have nothing to fear."
Colvin reached a shaky hand out towards the dragon then quickly snatched it back, unsure of herself. She began looking around the room again frantically waiting for Valerian to comfort her.
"Colvin, it's ok. You can touch me."
Colvin summoned a little more confidence and stepped up closer to the dragon. She reached her hand out once again, and closed her eyes as her hand made contact with its scaly flesh. She slid her hand across its scaly skin. It was surreal; the scales had an iridescent quality to them. The scales looked green at first glance, and then blue as the light hit them. They felt so strong and solid beneath her palm, they reminded her of armor plates.
The large dragon swung its massive head towards Colvin, and looked into her eyes. He was right, she could see Valerian's presence deep within the dragon's eyes. Its huge yellow slitted eyes mesmerized her. She reached out her hand and touched its gigantic muzzle. The dragon leaned into touctouch like a cat that was starved for attention.
"This is so amazing...can you fly?"
"Yes I can. I can carry you on my back if you like."
"Maybe some other time. Can I have you back, please?"
Almost in that same moment, Valerian appeared to be standing where the dragon was only a moment ago.
"How did you do that?"
"Colvin, many of the Fae have a power animal. Mortals have a power that is kin to this, only mortal power is not strong enough to actually transform you into that animal, but you can feel a magnetic pull towards it, as if you feel in tune with it somehow. Some people call this a "Heartbeast" some call them "Familiars". It is all the same thing. My power animal is obviously, as you have just seen, a dragon.
"So does that mean that Jareth is a Goblin?"
"No, no, Jareth does have a power animal though."
"So, all Fae have a different animal?"
"Yes. Each Power animal is unique to that Fae. Jareth's is a white Barn Owl."
"Yes! Of course! Sarah told me that the night she wished her baby brother away to Jareth, an owl had been scratching at the door...then, moments later, he was there."
"Colvin, what is your favorite animal? Something that you have always loved, maybe even without cause, that you just simply feel drawn to?"
"I know this sounds a little strange, but, I feel very in tune with Sharks, specifically, Great White Sharks. I know that it seems completely strange, most people like Koalas or Panda Bears, but not me."
"I don't think that sounds crazy, Actually, I am now convinced that you have a true mortal power animal. Not all mortals can channel this connection. Some mortals I feel pick an animal to like just because they feel they need to connect with something, unfortunately, in those cases it is meaningless. Sharks are not cute, there are no exterior reasons why someone would love a shark. But you dod I d I bet you always have too."
"You're right. I have always liked them since I was a small child...I never even knew why, but it makes more sense now. I used to take comfort in them, and in their energy when ever anything bad happened in my life. They are strong, and I knew that I would always have them, even if I lost everything else."
Colvin walked up to Valerian and put her arms around his waist.
"Well, personally, I think dragons are much sexier than owls."
Valerian laughed at her comment, but then looked down at her seductively.
Colvin laughed, she knew what she was about to say was both completely lame and totally raunchy, but she said it anyway.
"If you behave, I'll show you my heartbeast tonight..."
"The shark?"
"No...the beaver." Colvin burst out laughing again. "I am SOOO just kidding, I couldn't resist."
"It's ok, I didn't really get your joke anyways...although I get the feeling it was a little off-color."
"Valerian, Valerian...you have so much to learn!"
"Will you teach me?"
"I'd be delighted. Let's go somewhere a little more private, and I will give you your first lesson in aboveground culture."
"Ok, so what is to be our first lesson?"
"Well, have you ever had a Hummer?"
"Not that I know of, does it hurt?"
"Not a bit...you'll love it. Let's go Romeo."
"Colvin, my name is Valerian."
"I know that, Romeo is just a nickname for 'lover boy'. Well, let's go."
Valerian held Colvin tight and transported them to his bedchambers where he was about to receive his first lesson in aboveground culture.

Chapter 23
Jareth appeared with Sarah held tightly in his arms within his private bedchambers. To Sarah, the room looked much like her own in its structure, only Jareth's décor seemed to be a little more dramatic. There was a large stone fireplace that blazed to life with fire, a large four poster bed covered with silky crimson satin sheets, and an almost transparent mosquito netting lining the perimeter of the bed. Sarah also noticed a magnificently carved mahogany armoire that carried what appeared to be a coat of arms engraved into its dark polished doors. He had a beautiful armchair that also very much resembled his throne. Jareth was definitely a very materialistic person. Sarah laughed to herself as she looked at him, and thought to herself, 'I don't even want to see how much clothing he possess, it will only depress me and bring me to the sad realization that my husband is more fashion sense than I do'.
"So, now that we are married, can I sleep in the same room as you?"
"Usually in the Underground, at least in royal households, The King and Queen have separate bedchambers, but they are allowed into each other's whenever they wish."
"Jareth, I know this is a different lifestyle than what I am used to, but there are some things about aboveground married life that I rather looked forward to."
"What's that, love?"
"Well, usually in the Aboveground, a husband and wife will share ONE bedchamber, as they ARE ONE. I was looking forward to being held safely in your arms every night before I fell asleep, and waking up in them in the morning."
"You wish to share a bedchamber with me?"
"Is that so bad?"
"Of course not, love, I just simply figured you would want your space from time to time."
"Well, I am sure I will sometimes, but I can always have time by myself when I wish it, as for our sleeping arrangements, I wish us to be together...If that is alright with you. You do WANT me to sleep here with you at night, don't you, Jareth?"
"I would love nothing more. I wish I could have you in my arms 26 hours a day...but I know that you would tire of me after a while."
"Right...thirteen hour clocks...I have to get used to that. As for getting tired of you? NEVER."
Sarah smiled and bit her lower lip looking seductively up at Jareth. He walked up to her and pulled her into a tight embrace. He nuzzled against her neck and whispered in her ear.
"You are mine tonight, and always."
Sarah sighed at his words, and held her breath. Just the feeling of him being so close set her body on fire. Remembering back to their previous encounter, Sarah reached down and could already feel that he was aroused.
Sarah quietly whispered back into his ear, "Come make love to your wife."
Jareth placed small kisses down her neck and slowly turned her so that she was facing away from him. He carefully began to unzip her gown, as he felt Sarah tense with sexual energy. He remembered how feverish and needy their last sexual encounter had been...not this time. Jareth would take his time.
As he slid the shimmery dress off of her shoulders, and down her slender form, Sarah let out a small moan. The feeling of his hands, however lightly he had touched her, she could feel his magnetic energy from the binding ceremony seer through her skin. Sarah tried in vain to turn around; only Jareth wasn't quite finished. He placed kisses lightly on her shoulder blades as he carefully pulled the pins from her hair, allowing her long locks to tumble down her back. He unlaced her corset skillfully, and watched as the corset dropped to the floor, Sarah spun around, but Jareth pulled just out of her reach.
"Uh..uh, be patient, love. I am taking my time with you tonight."
Sarah let he head fall back and closed her eyes. Jareth moved closer to her, and gently pulled her underwear loose until they fell away to her ankles. She now stood before him completely and utterly nude. Sarah blushed and tried to cover certain parts of her anatomy with her hands, feeling slightly exposed.
"Don't hide from me, Sarah, you should never be embarrassed by your beauty. When I look at you, my heart overflows with Love and admiration. You are truly the most beautiful creature I have ever laid my eyes upon."
Sarah's eyes sparkled at the realization that Jareth loved her for who she was and thought she was beautiful even when totally naked.
"I don't mean to seem unbelieving, but I am not used to feeling so...flawless. Back home there are beautiful women on the covers of every magazine. In that world, beauty is all based on what size pants you wear, or how perfect your face looks."
"Don't ever apologize...you have more natural grace and beauty than any person on a magazine cover...what do they do? Sell clothes? You are talented, creative, imaginative, strong willed, smart, and very beautiful, shall I continue?"
"No, I get the point."
"Good, because I will spend the rest of the evening driving that point home..."
Jareth lifted her into his arms and walked her over to the huge bed and laid her gently on the satin coverlet. Sarah kneeled up onto the bed and helped him remove his blue frock coat. She slid it easily off his shoulders and gently tossed it onto the nearby armchair. She then turned her attention the small buttons on his white poet's shirt. Jareth looked at her intently as she undressed him. He let the sexual energy from her flow into him as she carefully unbuttoned his shirt. This experience was so much more intense than the last time had been, mostly owing to the fact that he could actually FEEL her sexual desire for him, which was all the more arousing.
Sarah tossed the poet's shirt onto the chair beside Jareth's coat. Her attention was turned to his breeches. She could see how painfully aroused he was, and she gasped at its splendid beauty as it strained against the front of his breeches. He moved his hand up to her face and ran his thumb over her red lips. She sighed and closed her eyes as her lips parted. She boldly opened her eyes and took his thumb into her mouth and ran her tongue along it. Jareth shuddered with pleasure as she blatantly reminded him of what was to come. He ran his hand over her mouth and over her chest as she leaned back on the bed. Jareth climbed onto the bed and kneeled before her. She traced the waistband of his breeches with her finger urging him to remove them. She heard his boots fall to the floor by the bed and she watched as he gracefully slipped off his breeches.
Jareth ran a fingertip over her taut nipple and watched as she shuddered in both pleasure and anticipation. Jareth trailed light kisses between her breasts and all the way to her navel. Sarah gasped with pleasure and closed her eyes. She began to feel Jareth's tongue fleck over her sex as she writhed beneath him. He took his time, pleasuring her until she felt as though she would die if he didn't make love to her. She needed to feel him, and she needed to please him. Jareth moved slowly back up, crawling towards her like a lion about to pounce. He took her nipple into his mouth as he positioned himself over her and thrust himself deep inside of her. Sarah cried out in pleasure as she finally felt him moving inside of her. She raked her nails over his back as he moved rhythmically feeling her matching his movements. Sarah's mind reeled with the intensity of her passion. She immersed herself in the pleasure that threatened to overtake her momentarily.
Jareth was merciless, he moved back and forth inside of her listening to her short breaths, as she was about to have an orgasm. Sarah felt this intense sensation building up inside of her that seemed to intensify even more as she held her breath and let her body tense. Her release was like a wave washing over her, making her body shudder uncontrollably. She tightened her grip on Jareth's back and moaned as she let the feeling overtake her. Jareth couldn't hold out much longer. When he felt that she had reached her release he stopped holding back the passion he felt for her. He began to move faster and harder until finally he moaned loudly and thrust himself deep into her core, releasing his seed. Exhausted, Jareth lay forward resting his head on her chest, still trying to catch his breath from their activities. Jareth pulled Sarah tightly into his arms and kissed her forehead. She looked up into his eyes that shone with love for her.
"I love you."
"I love you too, my Queen."
Jareth had no intentions of ever sleeping without her by his side ever again. He had finally won her love, and achieved true happiness. How could life in the Underground get any better? He closed his eyes and held her tight.
"Sweet dreams, love." He whispered just before he fell into a blisssleesleep.
****************************************************
Chapter 24
Sarah awoke the next morning in Jareth's arms. She took a deep breath and smiled down at his sleeping face. Was this real?? Did she really marry Jareth last night? Her eyes gazed down to the sparkling diamond ring that adorned her finger. Everything felt so right, as if she was always meant to be living in the Underground with Jareth, by his side. A noise startled Sarah out of her daydreams and she put her hand over her stomach. She must have really been hungry for her stomach to grumble that loudly. Sarah turned and looked over to see Jareth staring at her...
Busted.
"How…how long have you been awake?”
"For a few minutes...I felt you move out of my arms and I woke up. I was just watching you, admiring how beautiful you are. I have to admit though, I tried very hard not to laugh when that noise emanated from you...such a loud noise from such a small girl!"
"I am hungry."
"We shall eat then."
"Should we go get Colvin first, to see if she wants to join us for breakfast?"
"She isn't here. She is with Valerian."
"How do you know?"
"Because I don't feel their presence within the castle...I can only assume she stayed with him last night."
Sarah smiled, "I'll just have to get all the juicy details from her later then."
Jareth laughed, "Well, I am sure you will have time with her this afternoon. Valerian and I have some business to discuss."
"Well, lets go eat breakfast then."
"No need."
"What?"
A bell chimed by the bedroom door and Sarah jumped up to see who was at the door. When she opened the door, there was no one there except a cart with breakfast already prepared on it. She pulled the cart into the room and looked at Jareth.
"You mean we get room service too?"
"Of course. You are royalty now."
Sarah smiled anckonckoned Jareth to come join her for breakfast.
"I'll just have something I can take with me. I have some business to attend to before I meet Valerian this afternoon. I will have to leave you for a little while, love, I am still the King, and I have my duties to take care of. You my dear, may do as you like."
"Ok, I will probably just take a bath and wander around the gardens until Colvin gets back."
Jareth picked up a flaky pastry off of one of the breakfast platters, and looked at Sarah.
"A croissant is what you call this?"
"Yes."
"After Colvin offered one to me, they looked delicious. I had my chef make them so that you two might feel more at home."
Jareth took a bite.
"So, what do you think? Do you like it?"
"They are wonderful! I'll have these served with every meal from now on."
"Croissants are a breakfast food, dear."
"I am the King! I can have them whenever I wish."
"Well, just don't mention Dunkin Donuts around Colvin, she'll make you try the coffee too."
"Well, love, I must be going. If you need anything at all, just ask one of the Goblins. They are you subjects now; your wish is their command."
"Ok, have a good day at work, dear!"
Jareth turned and looked a Sarah curiously...
"Sorry, I couldn't resist...I always wanted to say that."
Jareth blew her a kiss and was gone the next instant in a puff of glitter.
***
Valerian transported Colvin and himself back to Colvin's bedroom.
"Last evening was...unforgettable."
"In a good way?"
"Of course! I haven't been with anyone in well over 400 years that has made me feel things that you did last night...and those undergarments...they're so scandalous! Wherever did you acquire them?"
"Victoria's Secret, Baby! Well, I am certainly very glad that you enjoyed yourself last night, I know I had the time of my life..."
"I think we make a good match, Colvin, you and I are not so different."
"I think you are right...so, when can I see you again?"
"Well, I aed yed you would accompany me later this afternoon on a tour of my kingdom."
"I'd love to."
"Splendid. I have to meet with Jareth now, we have some things discuss."
"Well hey, before you go, can you make me a Dunkin Donuts coffee? I need the caffeine."
"Sure. Do you think Sarah might like one as well?"
"How thoughtfu you you...yes, I think that would be a nice surprise."
"In that case, I will make three, I would like one as well."
Valerian waved his hand over the table, and instantly there were three steaming hot cups of Dunkin Donuts coffee. Valerian picked one up, gave Colvin a kiss and playfully whispered into her ear, "I'm looking forward to my next lesson." Before he disappeared from the room.
Colvin walked over to Sarah's door, and then it dawned on her that last night was Sarah's wedding night...Oh shit...what if Jareth was still in there? And naked at that? Then she remembered that Valerian had been rushing off to meet Jareth...
"The coast must be clear..."
Colvin knocked on the large oak doors, and she heard Sarah's voice on the other side yell, "Come in!"
Colvin peeked around the door to see Sarah sitting on her bed in a large white bathrobe, and a towel wrapped around her head like a tn. n.
"Hey Colvin, I saved you some breakfast, I wasn't sure if Valerian fed you this morning."
"How did you know that I stayed with him?"
"Jareth told me...he sensed it."
"Ah...he didn't "see" anything in his "senses" did he?"
"No...why?"
"Valerian and I ...well...we hit it off last night, we'll just leave it at that."
Sarah burst out laughing, "Sounds more like you "Hit it" Last night! So...what do you have there, anyways?"
"Oh, I almost forgot...I brought you this."
"Colvin...where in the HELL did you get Dunkin Donuts coffee in the Underground?? You know what...no...I don't even wao kno know."
"Valerian summoned it with his magic."
"You are just rubbing off on everyone, aren't you!"
"What do you mean?"
"You got Valerian drinking Dunkin Donuts coffee, and you got Jareth eating croissants with every meal!"
"Nuh-uh, really? I didn't even think he's try one!"
"Well, he did...and he is now an addict."
"So...ah...how was your wedding night?"
"Oh my GOD it wmazimazing...Jareth did things that I...is it hot in here?"
"Ok, change of subject...I don't need you going all horny on me...save it for your husband!"
Sarah laughed at her friend's funny, but half serious remark.
"Well Sar, I have to take a bath...I will catch up with you in a little while."
"Ok Colvin, I think I am going to check out some more of the castle, and I will meet you back here later."
"Sounds like a plan. See you in a little while."
Colvin turned and headed back to her own bedchamber.
Sarah got up off her bed and finished towel drying her hair, as she moved to the armoire to find something suitable to wear. She opened the large wooden doors and her eyes moved over a few simple dresses that weren't overly extravagant. Sarah finally settled on a cream colored dress that had a square neckline and a dropped waist. She took an immediate liking to the dress because it vaguely reminded her of the dress she used to wear in the park back home when she was younger. She decided to brush her hair out, and leave it down. In a land like the Underground, she felt so free and so simple. There was no need for loads of makeup and elaborate hairstyles for day-to-day life here. Sarah glanced down once again to the shiny diamond ring on her finger that claimed her as Jareth's wife and queen. QUEEN...she was a Queen now. She still couldn't quite grasp that concept. With the position, she knew much responsibility would be involved. Jareth must have decided to let her lay low and adjust to life Underground before he would introduce her to the court as their new Queen. 13 hours and one whole day were not nearly enough time to get accustomed to this mystical land.
Sarah caught herself zoning, and didn't want to waste the entire day thinking about her new life. She decided instead, it was timecheccheck out all her new home had to offer.
***
Valerian materialized inside Jareth's private study.
"So, Jareth, how was your first night with your new wife?"
"Everything I could have imagined, and more. She is everything I have ever yearned for - She gives me strength I never thought possible...Speaking of...how was YOUR night last night? Valerian...what in the Underground are you drinking?"
"Oh this? I a d a dunkachino, want to try it?"
"Did Colvin talk you into t"
"
"She introduced me to it, yes...but once you try it, you're hopelessly hooked!"
"You also managed to cleverly avoid my question I see."
"Hmm?"
"I asked you how your night went...I sensed both yours and Colvin's presence was not here in this caste last night."
"Right...I took her to see some of my kingdom. She was quite afraid when I showed her my power animal, but I convinced her she had nothing to fear from me.
"
"Yes, I haven't exactly talked to Sarah about the owl yet. I know she has seen it, but I don't know if she made the connection yet."
"I suspected as much."
"So what ELSE did you and Colvin do last night?"
"Why do you ask?"
"Oh...only because you had quite a large smile on your face when you got here..."
"Well, ah...she is giving me lessons in Aboveground culture."
"Oh? Like what?"
"She gave me something she called a "Hummer" last t."t."
"A What?"
"Ask Sarah...surely she can explain it to you."
"No, Valerian, I want you to explain it to me...I asked you."
"I don't think so Jareth...Trust me, you need to ask Sarah...I am NOT showing you what it is."
"I'll have to remember to ask her then."
"So, Jareth, there is something else I have been meaning to speak with you about."
"Yes?"
"Your marriage to Sarah all happened so quickly. She truly feels as if you have always been madly and hopelessly in love witr. Dr. Don't you think you owe it to her to tell her the truth?"
"Valerian, I would walk through fire for her, swim across the deepest ocean, and die a thousand deaths for her to look at me the way she did last night."
***
Sarah wandered aimlessly down the winding dimly lit halls of the castle beyond the Goblin City that she would now call home.
"It needs a woman's touch, that is for sure...it could stand a good scrubbing too
S
She admired the intricately w tap tapestries that hung proudly on the walls, all a tribute to her husband's heritage. She heard soft voices coming from a little further down the hallway. It was Jareth! Maybe she would surprise him and give him a quick kiss before she headed out to the courtyard. She crept up towards the door that was left slightly ajar, trying not to giggle about her plan when she suddenly overheard part of a conversation she was obviously never meant to hear.
"The fact is, if she knew that I only intended to seduce her and hurt her, the way she had hurt me so many years ago, she would never look on me that way again, and I can't take that chance."
Sarah could barely contain herself. Despite how shocked she was, she felt frozen in place and remained silent as they continued.
"What would you have done? Left her? Married her still? Married her and then ignore her? No, better yet, marry her and parade in front of her with your sexual conquests?"
Sarah heard enough. She ran blindly down the long corridor towards her room, praying she would make it there before she got violently ill all over the floor. Could this be true? Had Jareth just been seeking revenge on her all along? The thought was more than she could bear. She now looked down on the diamond ring on her finger with disgust. She needed Colvin now, more than ever.

"No, Valerian, you know me. You know that all of my angerardsards her was born out of love. I was ANGRY that she didn't choose me over her baby brother 6 years ago...I was angry, and I wanted her to know what it felt like. Only, I never could have gone through with it. When I saw the love in her eyes as she looked upon me, that look was all it took to melt my heart. When she finally told me that she loved me...I realized that was all I ever really wanted from her."
"I see your point. If you both are TRULY happy, I see no need to disturb that. Well, I wish you both happiness and good health, I take my leave of you now."
"Good day Valerian, and thank you my friend."
Valerian transported himself back to the dragon kingdom. He had much to attend to before he could bring Colvin there for a grand tour.
Jareth took a deep breath and tried to put all of what he and Valerian just talked about out of his mind. He picked up some paperwork that had to be done for the Seelie court before he could hunt down his wife for a picnic in the ens.ens.

When Sarah reached Colvin's door, she knocked desperately, hoping Colvin hadn't wandered off yet.
"Colvin! Are you there? Please..."
"Sar? Is that you? Come in - I thought you were going to explore the castle..."
Sarah opened the door and looked pitifully up at Colvin before she dropped to the floor miserably with her hands over her face sobbing.
"Sar! What is going on? What's the matter?"
"It...It's Jareth...It was all a..
..
Colvin stopped and thought to herself, "Uh oh. This was bad." She tried to crack a joke to make Sarah laugh, well, at least enough so that she could tell her what happened.
"Is married life that bad?"
Sarah looked up at Colvin and gave her the most deadly serious gaze, "Worse."
"Well, are you gonna tell me what happened? I can't help you unless I know what's wrong."
Sarah took a deep breath and tried to push back the tears that threatened to spill from her eyes again.
"I overheard something I don't think I was supposed to hear."
"Like what?
"
"I heard Jareth aaleralerian talking, apparently about me, and I heard Jareth say that he only intended to seduce me and hurt me like I had hurt him so many years ago when I rejected his offer. To make matters worse, I heard Valerian ask Jareth how he would have done it...left me? Marry me and ignore me? Or worse yet, parade his mistresses in front of me."
Colvin looked Horrifie wha what Sarah told her. She pulled Sarah into an embrace to comfort her as a dark cloud settles within her eyes. Colvin wasn't about to let ANYONE hurt Sarah, come hell or high water...this was far from over.
"Well, this can't be true now Sar, I mean, Jareth seemed so totally in love with you last night."
"He has the ability to be very cold and manipulative...he was my enemy last time we encountered each other in the Labyrinth...why did I ever believe things could be any different? He was obviously playing me like a fiddle, and I fell into his trap...forever."
Sarah began to sob all over again and Colvin held her close and rocked her in her arms. She finally exhausted herself, and Colvin helped get her into bed so that she could rest...She had matters to discuss with his Royal-High-and-Mighty.
***************************************************
