Midnight with the Captains

Author’s Note: Michelle, just letting you know that I knew the last chapter was rather dry. I didn’t put much heart into it for no reason other than I was semi-sick when I wrote it. Also, I kind of explain why Kain gets chased in bits and parts. In the fourth chapter where Sage says “Blast it! That boy and his rumors always get him in trouble. I cannot take much more of this tomfoolery and another thing…” It was hinting to it and also in chapter nine where he’s ‘itching’ to say his name in the tailor’s kind of points it out, but I have not fully revealed it. I saved it for this chapter. It was actually planned for this chapter, so good timing. Lol. Also, this is the chapter where there be sex. YAY!! Lol. Finally Sage and Jack get with the snoggins!!

Disclaimer: The usual

The Devil’s Dowry grew closer to the island with every second allowing Sage to get a closer look at the body. It was the body of a young boy who seemed to be passed out and lying on his stomach because of this she could not see the face, but hope swelled up inside of her like a balloon. ‘Christian’ she told her self, ‘It’s got to be Christian.’

Jack steered the boat as close as he could to the island and then Sage turned to Iron Henry. “Henry,” she said, “I want ye ta get in the boat and go over to that island and bring me that boy. Understand?”

He nodded and the crew watched as he did just that. None of them were moving. None of them even looked to be breathing. All of them knew what hope hung in the mind of their captain and that same hope hung over each of them like a storm cloud. Could it really be Christian?

Iron Henry had made it out to the island and was on his way back, rowing quickly. When he reached the boat he climbed in first and then the boy. He placed the boy face down on the deck and then reached over to haul in the boat by the ropes. He was working rather quickly, but this all seemed to move in slow motion for Sage.

Finally, Henry brought the boy over to her and turned him over to show that it was indeed a very malnourished Christian. Sage went to talk but suddenly her voice caught in her throat. The crew gathered around them talking in hushed whispers to each other.

“You okay, love?” Jack asked Sage, putting an arm around her slowly.

She said nothing as Iron Henry started to talk “Cap’n, Me thinks maybe you should give this child a shot of rum or two. He’ll be needin’ the liquid quite bad and if ye’ want ye can have me bread from the trip on Barbados.”

Sage half-nodded at him. “Yes, thank you, Henry. Can you be gettin’ that for me as I carry him to me cabin. Bring it there, no need ta knock, just hurry.”

With the captain’s orders, Henry rushed off just as Jack and Kain were ordered to pick up Christian and carry him to his hammock.

They did as they were told and flashed each other an angry look that went unnoticed by Sage, but just barely.

They carried him quickly to the hammock and lied him down on it. Sage turned to both of them and said ‘Thank ye.”

Kain said nothing. He turned with a grunt and walked quickly out of the room. Jack, who had thought about doing the same thing, got up and walked toward the rum chest instead. He opened it, slipped out one of the last 3 bottles and carried it over to Sage and handed it to her.

“Thank ye again.” Sage said smiling as Jack got down to kneel beside Christian’s sleeping body.
“Ye are welcome.” He told her softly. “I’m glad ye got to get yer brother back.”

Sage sighed, staring at him. “Me too.” She said. Her face was only inches from his and she could feel the heat rising in her cheeks. ‘How does he make me feel this way?’ She thought to herself. She drew in a shaky breath as Jack’s face came closer to hers. Suddenly she drew back and stood up, followed by him. “I’m sorry.” She said, coughing, “I-I-I think I n-need some air.” She ended with a nervous laugh.

Jack smiled “Oh,” he said, “I-I-I understand, love. I’ll watch over Christian if ye want me ta and feed him the bread when Henry brings it.”

“That would be nice.” Sage said as she turned and walked out onto the deck, leaving Jack to tend to Christian.

As she walked into the sun she saw Kain sitting on a barrel playing his pan flute. She walked over to him. “Hey.” She said to him, touching his shoulder.

Kain winced when she touched him “Good day, Cap’n” he said, not looking at her.

Sage sighed and sat down on a barrel beside him. “What be on yer mind today, Kain? Yer not at all yerself and I feel as if some of it might be fault of me own. We were childhood friends, we can still talk.”

Kain grunted, still keeping his eyes toward his flute.

Sage’s voice became angrier. “Stop it!” she said, “Yer actin’ like a damn child!” This made Kain turn toward her, his eyes full of confusion and anger, “Ye heard me right!” she continued. “Ye act like yer about 3 and I don’t know why and ye know what? I don’t really want ta know, but it’s got ta stop. This anger ye have on yer shoulders isn’t good and this thing where the girls chase ye is just mad and it’s all got ta stop. Ye are…”

She was stopped in mid-sentence, by Kain “Quiet!” he howled furiously, “Ye don’t know me, how can ye say any of that ta me? We were friends, aye, but you no longer know the real me or care about me at all. Ye got this damned boat and now you barely remember why ye got it. Why don’t ye leave me alone and go be with Jack and Christian. I’m sleeping in the crew’s cabin tonight.”

Sage was shocked by his outburst. At first she had no idea what to say to him. “Ye do that!” she said loudly, “Ye just go ahead and sleep down there until yer ready to tell me just what the hell soiled yer knickers. I’d really like ta know. It’s been going on for so long I don’t even remember what started it. All I remember is one day we’re having a battle with the crew of The Pearl and the next day your out and about dressing in costumes telling women aler ter the Caribbean what a good time Kain be in bed and how good he treats a woman. If I didn’t know any better I’d think ye like being chased. I don’t even know why the hell I’m even talking to ye about this. Just go down to the crew’s cabin and stay there. I can’t deal with ye right now.” She was out of breath by the end.

Kain grunted loudly and looked at Sage angrily. He threw his pan flute in the ocean and stomped off loudly to the crew’s cabin.

Sage sighed and put her head in her hands. All she wanted to do was scream. Everything was going wrong all at once. Slowly she made her way to her cabin. Jack was just feeding Christian the last bit of bread and laying him back down. She smiled at him and he returned the smile.

“He was awake and asking for ye.” Jack said, “But I heard ye and Kain yelling and I told him that ye would be back in a little later.”

“Thank ye for that, Jack.” She said to him, “Right now we need to be getting back on course. We’ve wasted too much time. I need you at the helm. Hopefully Christian’ll be fine now.”

Jack nodded and opened his compass. “We’re not as far off as ye think.” He said, “We must’ve drifted quite a bit. We didn’t put down the anchor.”

Sage smiled. “No worries, then? That’s fine news.” They both walked out of the cabin and to the helm. The rest of the day went quickly and seemed to be a dream to Sage somewhere in the afternoon Jack decided he was tired and went to downdown.

“Keep going north on you’re regular compass. Not many turns now. I’ll help you more after I’ve had me rest.” He told her and left after a nod.

Sage was left on the deck by herself to drift into a dream state of sorts.

Later, Night fell silently over the soft Caribbean waters and Sage was standing on the deck of the Devil’s Dowry shaking herself awake yet again. After fighting sleep a little bit longer she thought it best to wake one of her crew to take the helm. She turned to walk toward the cabins, but stopped midway when she heard humming coming from somewhere in the shadows. “Jack?” she called out to the night, drawing up her brow. “Aye, love. It’s me.” His deep voice came back to reassure her that she was in no immediate danger.

She sighed and started off toward the cabins before stopping again and calling to nowhere in particular “Do ye think, since ye are already awake, that ye might take the wheel for the night? I be getting’ tired and there be no real reason to wake the crew.” Moments later she heard rustling coming from somewhere in front of her and then the heavy thud of boots hitting wood. He emerged in front of her holding a bottle of rum, which he handed to her after taking a swig. “Aye.” He said, She thanked him for taking over and took a swig from the bottle. Wiping her mouth, she handed it back to him, letting her hand linger on his a bit to long.

She shivered from touctouch, but pretended it was the night air. Jack caught this and paid no mind. “Ye aren’t as bad as I first thought ye were.” Sage whispered, almost not knowing it had escaped her mouth. Half of his mouth played up into a dazzling smile as he reached up a rough hand to twirl her silken hair between his fingers. “Thank ye, lass. I’m afraid ye are much to kind though. I am that bad, perhaps worse. Ye should’ve stayed away from the life of a pirate when ye had the chance.” Sage coughed and turned away from him nervously, suddenly having an interest in the stars.

What seemed like hours of silence passed between the two of them. “Ye are not bad, Jack. Ye are a pirate, plain and simple. Ye said it yerself. I was driven to this, as I am sure ye probably were also. Even if we would’ve d…” Jack put his index finger to her lips “Quiet, love. I know what I am and I also know what you are. I know things have led us places we don’t want to be.” He stopped and looked up at the sky before continuing, “The night sky’s beautiful, we’re here now, no worries.” A nervous cough made him pause re are adding, “Ye are more beautiful, Sage, then the sky in all its magnificence.”

“What? I…” she asked, turning to face him, “What did you say?” His face lit up with an amused smile. He took a drink of his rum, put the bottle on the ground behind them, and continued looking at the “Yo “You heard me. I said you were beautiful.” She turned toward him and closed the gap between them. Leaning in, she squinted her eyes as if trying to see into his mind. “What be ye playin’ at, Jack?” she asked, finally, straightening up her body. Her breath quickened slightly. She couldn’t understand why.

He turned his body to face her, staring deep into her eyes. Her feet seemed to melt under her as, for the fist time, she stared deep into his deep brown eyes. “Jack don’t play, love.” He said putting his hand on her cheek. Her mouth dropped open in surprise for she had never known even the slightest touch of a man. She started to say something, but had no time. Jack’s lips were on hers, kissing her deeply, lovingly. So many things were going through her head at once she never even noticed Jack’s hand touching the back of her head. It took her by surprise when he pressed their heads together harder, kissing her more roughly. A moan escaped the back of her throat and ended in a weak groan when she felt his wet tongue snake it’s way across her bottom lip.

His lips moved from hers to her neck, leaving a trail of blazing fire wherever they went. “Jack!” she gasped, trying to gather her breath. That brought both of them to the harsh reality of what was going on. They broke away from each other, breathing heavily.

Sage grabbed up rum rum bottle and took a swig and handed it to Jack. “That wasn’t meant to happen, love, I’m sorry.” His voice was sincere as was his face.

Sage scratched at an imaginary itch on her arm nervously as silence took over. Jack sighed, feeling very strange, as he turned back to stare at the sky. Seconds later, Sage was stepping toward him with a lof luf lust in her eyes. Jack thought she was walking away so he didn’t pay he any mind. When she reached his side he finally looked, his face twisted in confusion. Before he had time to think, Sage’s hand pulled his mouth to hers. No woman has ever made the first move on him. Jack’s eyes widened in surprise as he threw the rum bottleeleselessly behind him. The rum bottle hit the water with a splash.

Her lips broke away from his and moved down his neck and to an exposed part of his chest. “Sage…” Jack said in protest.

“Jack, “ She said looking up at him and placing a finger on his lips, “Do shut up. We both know we’re feelin’ the same things. Just let it happen. I’ve never been loved by a man. I’ve never had a man touch me and kiss me the way ye have.”

Jack was surprised to hear this, “Never?” he said, “But I thought…”

“No,” She answered, “Never.” She smiled and kissed him quickly, “Now,” she said, “Show me the love of a pirate, Jack Sparrow.”

Suddenly, Jack crushed his lips to hers fiercely and they were backing up against one of the shipsides. Still kissing her, Jack slid his hand up her back and untied her corset with a gentle tug. Breaking away for only a second he loosened it and pulled it over her head. He didn’t want to treat her like just another wench. She was special.

Their tongues slipped into each other’s mouths, wrestling over each other. Her hands flew to his sash and she quickly pulled it off and tossed it aside. Then came his vest and that too was flung to the side. Both of their shirts lay open as they slid to a laying position on the deck. It was clear Sage wore no undergarments, as her breasts were fully exposed. Jack’s mouth moved from to to one of her pert, rosy nipples. His tongue flicked it, teasing her. Her eyes went wide with pleasure. He put his mouth around it and sucked it, still moving his tongue in his mouth. She moaned deep in her throat. He moved up to look at her, “Feel good, Sage?” he asked her.

“Yes.” She gasped as her molded her breast with his hand. She shivered at the way he said her name. He then removed the rest of her shirt and untied her pants, pulling them off and tossing them aside. Then moved to his own shirt and pants, removing them quickly. He moved to kiss her deeply, moving his hand down to touch her woood.ood. He caressed it softly, letting her know what he was about to do. He then spread her apart with two fingers and pushed them inside her slowly. A moan presented itself down in her throat. He moved his fingers in and out of her letting her juices flow on his fingers, rubbing her clit with a thumb.

Removing his lips from her mouth, he smiled down at her. Watching her face as he pleasured her. Her eyes were closed and her head was tilted back as she moaned for more again and again. “Ye feel so good.” He said softly to her, kissing her face. He removed his thumb and moved down to replace it with his tongue, still fingering her. He licked her clit, feeling her squirm above him.
“Jack!” She gasped as he put his mouth around her clit and sucked on it. She continued to squirm. Finally he removed his fingers and put them to his mouth, licking her off of them.

It was then she opened her eyes and seen his hard member in the moonlight. Pulling herself up, Jack looked at her with an odd expression “What are ye doin’, Sage?” he whispered.

She took her hand and wrapped it around his hard dick and it hardened more in her grip. He gasped. “Sage?” he said her name. Suddenly, she put her mouth around it and took him into her as he groaned loudly. Her hand worked around the bottom of it as she took as much of the top in as she could.

‘It’s huge!’ she thought to herself, ‘I wonder if I could…’ She moved her hand as far down as she could and managed to loosen her throat enough to take his entire hardness in her mouth.

“Oy Gods!! Sage. Damnmit!” Jack hollered in pleasure. She removed her mouth and grinned wickedly at him. “Where in all hell did ye learn ta do all that?”

“I just thought it would feel good,” She admitted to him, blushing.

“Oh, that it did, love.” He said, “Now, are ye ready for this?”

Nodding, she laid back down as he positioned himself between her legs. “This is goin’ ta hurt a bit, Sage.” He told her.

“I know.” She whispered, relaxing to make it easier.

With that he entered her hot, wanting body. Slowly, the walls of her womanhood opened for him. She took one of his hands in hers and gripped it hard. Tears began to well up in the corners of her crystal blue eyes. “Are ye okay?” he asked he quietly.

She nodded quickly as his entire member was at last throbbing within her. Knowing that she was okay, he started to move in and out of her in a lust-driven rhythm.

Moans escaped her mouth with each thrust, thought quietly as not to wake the crew. Jack’s head came to rest on her shoulder. She could feel the sweat and hear his labored breathing.

“Sage.” Jack started after a gulp, “ I think… I think I love ye.” Sage’s eye grew wide in surprise and immediately her legs wrapped around his waist, pushing him to drive her harder inside of her.

“I think I love ye too, Jack.” She moaned through clenched teeth. Suddenly, in one swift motion, Sage was on top of Jack. One of her legs were on either side of his muscular waist. Slowly, Sage started to pump up and down, her breasts rising and falling as she did.

She put her hands on his chest and he put his around her waist as she started to pump faster. She grinded her hips eagerly, causing him to cry out in pleasure. “I’m about to… love… I’m goin’ ta…” His breath quickened one last time.

“Me too.” She moaned, “I’m… Ye gods!” They both came to climax together with stars dancing in their eyes. Sage laid her head to rest on Jack’s chest and for the first time she saw the scars and bullet holes riveted on his muscular frame. Seeing them, she gasped.

“No need for alarm, love. A pirate’s bound to get into some scrapes over the years.” Jack said, smiling.

“Yes.” Sage agreed, “scrapes. I see. No worries, then?”

“No worries” Jack repeated, stroking her hair.

“We should get dressed before the crew wakes.” Sage said, getting up and turning around to find her clothes.

“Aye.” Jack answered, also going to look for his clothes after pointedly adding, “I meant what I said, ye’ know?”

“Aye.” Sage said, “I meant it too.”

They both dressed in silence. Only breaking it to say good night and then they embraced for a kiss. Little did they know, eyes watched them only a short distance away, and they showed only anger.
