~*~Chapter One: Rum and Pie~*~

“Bye, mum.” Sage called to her mother on the way out the door, “We will come back and see ye soon!” She hurried her brother along beside her “C’mon, Christian, ‘fore she tries ter give us more pie.” She whispered to him. They hurried along down the crowed streets of Tortuga to find a place to sit and talk, naturally they found their way to the old, burnt down part of town and sat on the ground. “So, what be are next move, Cap’n?” Christian asked her. He was a young boy of 16 or thereabouts, but time on the sea had made his features rough. His eyes were dark brown and weary looking. His attire consisted of a long white shirt that lay half open in the front, a pair black pants that went into worn black boots, and a green bandanna tied around his head.

Sage rubbed her chin out of habit. Her blue eyes sparkled in the sun with thought. Her long, wavy black hair hung loosely around her face. She wore a green headband and some beads in her hair to keep it out of her face. Her eyeliner was smeared from rubbing it in her sleep. “I don’t know, me boy. I jus’ don’t know. It’d help if I had me a big swig of rum. This keepin’ sober aroun’ ma is killin’ me.” She got up to head toward what use to be the bar, only half scorched by flames and still standing. She was wearing a green, suede corset that laced in the back over white top, black pants that ended mid-thigh in shreds of cloth and green suede boots that looked fairly old, yet well-taken care of.

Finally reaching the bar, she swung open what was left of a door and crawled into the room reaching for something. After some time she pulled her hand out with the tops two bottles of rum skillfully notched in between her fingers. Smiling, she walked back over to where her brother sat, watching knowingly, and sat down. Handing him one of the bottles she pointed to him “Just a swig or two, maybe even three, but nary a drop after that. That be for me.” She warned him. He nodded and listened to see if she was going to say anything else. She scrunched up an eyebrow in thought. “Well,” she began, “I don’t really have any heists planned after the last one.”

She pulled the cork out of her rum bottle and took a great swig before continuing “We don’t really need any money right now. That wench thing gets all the men to give me money an’ I bet ole’ Bill’s still tied to that bed.” Christian just sat there listening, knowing not to interrupt his sister when she was thinking of plans. “Right.” She continued, “Well, we’ve looked everywhere in the Caribbean for Da and still not a bloody sign of the blighter. Maybe we should just sail some more, I mean, it ain’t a bad plan all in all. If I had any form of luck at all we’d run inta Jack Sparrow, he knows the way to The Island of the Dead and I know da is on that cursed Black Pearl.” Christian nodded in answer.

Sage leaned forward and looked into his eyes “Little brother, no worries. We’ll find Da and make the yella’ coward pay for what he’s done ter us.” He smiled “I know that, Cap’n, I have faith in ye. I’m just not feelin’ to well. I think it’s Mum’s damn pies.” With that he turned an awful shade of purple and ran off behind one of the building. Sage turned and laughed mercilessly at the retching sound behind her. “Christian, when ye be done, I’ll be at the ship waitin’. As soon as ye’ get there we shove off. We’ll find the Pearl.” Not caring if he heard her or not, she picked up his unopened bottle of rum and made for the docks to get ther crew ready to leave port.

((Sorry this was so short, it's kind of an intro thing, tell me what you think))
