Alternate Ending
Anakin: I need him!!!
He takes out his light saber and begins to attack Mace Windu; he pauses in mid air. Chancellor Palpatine takes advantage of Windu’s shock and begins to electrocute him. Anakin swallows hard; he whispers, “I‘m sorry, Padme.” He turns the light saber on Chancellor Palpatine and slices the hand that is electrocuting Windu. Windu finishes him off and looks at Anakin.
Windu: Anakin! What you almost did is unacceptable.
Anakin: I’m sorry, Master.
Windu: If word gets out to the Jedi counsel… you will be expelled.
Anakin: I know Master.
Windu: But… you realized that you were about to commit a mistake and you retracted it.
Anakin drops his head and begins to stare at the floor.
Windu: I will not tell the counsel.
Anakin: Why not, Master?
Windu: Because you could have betrayed the Jedi order; you didn’t and for that you should not be punished
Anakin: Thank you, Master.
Anakin drops to his knees and begins to weep.
Anakin: I did not betray the Jedi, but I betrayed her…
Windu: Who Anakin?
Anakin: Padme…
Windu: Padme?
Anakin: I can not save her now, Master.
Master Windu sits down next to him; he crosses his legs and closes his eyes.
Windu: Close your eyes, Anakin.
Anakin sits down and crosses his legs; he sighs and closes his eyes.
Windu: Listen to my voice Anakin…
Windu: Clear your head…
Windu: The Sith have the power to control dreams…
Windu: Think Anakin, were those dreams really yours?
Windu: Focus and you will see the true origin of your dreams.
Anakin’s entire body begins to shake as he sees images of Palpatine pouring out of the locked barrier the he had absently created. “If Anakin thinks that his wife is going to die…” Anakin’s heart begins to pound heavily against his chest, “He will have no choice but to join the Sith…” He squeezes his eyes tighter, “Anakin Skywalker will have no choice, but to join me… Lord Sidious, as my apprentice.” Anakin’s eyes pop open at the last vision and he glares at Lord Sidious’ body.
Anakin: I hate him…
Windu: No Anakin! Hate is the path to the dark side… A Jedi does not hate.
Anakin swallows hard and his face softens.
Anakin: Sorry, Master.
Windu: Now you know why we forbid attachment and possession.
Anakin: Yes, Master… I’m sorry, Master.
Windu: We must go back to the Jedi Temple and prepare for what’s next to come.
*Padme‘s apartment*
C-3PO walks to the veranda were Padme stands silently crying, “Anakin…”
C-3PO: If you allow me to say Ms. Padme I know that Master Anakin is okay.
Padme: How can you be so sure?
Threepio remains silent and Padme weakly smiles.
Padme: You were just trying to make me feel better… huh?
C-3PO: I’m terribly sorry Miss Padme… Is there anything that I can get you.
Padme: No Threepio… just tell me when he gets back.
C-3PO: Very well, Miss Padme.
Threepio walks away and Padme continues to look out towards the Jedi temple, “Anakin, where are you… please be okay.”
*Jedi Temple*
Master Windu: Anakin, come to the floor.
He worriedly stands up and walks to the center of the counsel.
Master Windu: Two months ago I was the first to say that Anakin Skywalker was to young to be a Jedi Master… today I believe that this is still true.
Anakin stares at Master Windu with a blank expression fighting back his anger. Fighting everything that was telling him to give into his rage and kill him not caring who saw him.
Master Windu: I also believe that despite his age he has proven himself to be as capable as anyone in this room to carry that position. I am officially nominating Anakin to be a Master Jedi.
Yoda: Master Jedi you think.
Anakin smiles at Windu and then focuses all his energy on Yoda.
Yoda: Master Jedi I…
Obi Wan Kenobi: That is absurd… he is not ready; he is too young.
Yoda: Master Windu thinks not.
Obi Wan Kenobi: Anakin was my apprentice… I know him best. He is irrational, unpredictable, arrogant.
Yoda: Many Jedi are arrogant… even Masters are.
Kit Fisto: I think that it would be best if Anakin left the room until we decide.
Anakin: I want to be here when my fate is decided.
Windu: Anakin…
Anakin nods, “Sorry Master.” He quickly walks out the room.
Windu: I believe that Anakin is ready. He proved it tonight when he helped to defeat the sith.
Obi Wan Kenobi: I still believe that he is too young; he has much to learn.
Kit Fisto: So did many other Jedi when they first became masters.
Windu: I believe he is ready.
Yoda: Ready young Skywalker is.
Kit Fisto: So do I.
Obi Wan Kenobi: What do you think Ki-Adi-Mundi? Do you agree with this Saesee Tiin? And what about you Luminara Unduli?
*Outside of the Jedi temple*
Anakin walks over to R2 and starts talking to him, “Even my own mentor doesn‘t believe in me… he is too young, arrogant, irrational.”
R2: Beeps.
Anakin: I was his Padawan he should believe in me the most…
Anakin: He’s jealous of my power… he’s just jealous that I’m better than him that I exceed him in many ways.
R2: Whistles.
Anakin: I know… I know R2. I should be grateful that he risked himself, so that he could train me when I was a little boy.
*Trade Federation*
Nute Gunray: No! No! This can not be… the Jedi could not had defeated Lord Sidious. This is impossible… it’s unthinkable something must be done . Drastic measures must be taken.
