White and Black Pearls - One Remaining Pearl - Prologue

Author’s Note: Fun Fact! Scientists estimate there are approximately one sextillion stars in the sky. That’s one with twenty one zeroes.

This story is a continuation of "Black and White Pearls - Seven Pearls" which can be found http://movies.adult-fanfiction.org/story.php?no=600091111 there. I advise you read that first before you read this, else you'll be spoiling the story for yourself.

Prologue

“We won’t help you do a thing!” Bootstrap Bill said urgently. “We won’t lift a hand to help you!”

“Father!” Will interjected with temper flaring in his voice.

“Will!” the man urged, his face pleading as he grabbed Will’s arm. “Don’t! Think about Elizabeth, think about…!”

“We haven’t even heard what she wants,” Will pressed.

She touched her fingers to her lower lip, which she was currently biting. “I have been listening to you tell my story to him, Bootstrap Bill,” Celeste said softly. “It was beautiful the way you told it. Some parts were correct, some were not… but most of it rang true. You almost made me sound like a bearable creature.” Her gaze drifted down to her feet. “I’m not though. Don’t let that notion sink into your head William Turner. Davy Jones was accurate in his evaluations of me.”

Will found himself wanting to comfort her, but kept his distance. “What is it you want of us?” he asked.

Bootstrap’s shoulders sagged as defeat hung heavy about him. His son was lost to the charms of this woman already, before she’d even started to interfere heavily in his life. He shook his head and went below deck, leaving the two of them alone and wanting no part in this.

When they were alone, Celeste lifted her head once more and looked William Turner over slowly. “You’ve kept to your charge of ferrying souls to better places,” she whispered as the sun rose higher behind her.

Will lifted a hand to shield his eyes from the light; she became a silhouette before him. “Unlike Jones, my true love has stayed true to me.” He kicked himself when he saw her wince. Jack hadn’t stayed true to her either. “But you didn’t come here to remark about my duties on the Dutchman.”

“No,” she agreed, “I didn’t. But I don’t wish to discuss this here, or anywhere on the water for that matter.”

“But I cannot step foot on land for another…”

“I know,” she interrupted. “Do you trust me?”

He shook his head. He was sympathetic for her but he certainly didn’t trust her, and coming from anybody at all these days, that was an entirely loaded question. “No,” Will said frankly.

“Good boy,” Celeste smiled. “That’s the right answer.”
